Hey Brach, do you know if you will be selling the crank pulley alone w/out the other three pieces? I wont be able to come around on this set. And around when do you think the next batch of crank pulleys will be made....damn I ask a lot of questions......lol.

Yes, you will be able to buy all the parts I make seperate. I will be making more crank pulleys very shortly.

Can I make a small suggestion? putting a set of "caption" just above the pictures in the 1st post for people who don't know which pulley is which...

^ those things would not have made a difference to the balancing even if done seperate. The counterweights are done internally on the crankshaft. The UR pulley does not have a harmonic "dampener". Seems the term harmonic "balancer" is what is confusing some.

Actually, they do ... along w/anything that bolts to the crank inside the motor. (ie - piston & rod assemblys)
Why do you think the counterweights are so large compared to the rod journals? To offset the the rods & pistons.

"All together" = the rotating assembly including pieces external to the block. (which would be those items I listed)
I dropped everything off including old hardware @ Kim Barr here in Dallas. No need to waste new flywheel bolts.

The crank, flywheel, and piston skirts took the balancing work.

Don't remember anybody mentioning the UR having a harmonic balancer, I thought we were discussing the fact that it (and Brach's pulley) lack it?
The balancer absorbs the vibrations in an attempt to save your crank & thrust bearings. It also works for NVH.

Guys, note the price jump from this to retail (second run). Its like, ~20-30 on previous offerings. If you can swing it, jump on board. Not like they're going to get cheaper.

I only say this because I've already bought mine ;).

yeah thats true, all of us that got in on that first run made out real good.

I mentioned a comparison of the UR that I already have to the Brach cp WITHOUT the urethane in it. Basically they are the same thing EXCEPT the UR is underdriven so there is really no benefit for me to purchase the Brach cp since it'll be the same thing I have except for the UR being smaller diameter & longer belts. I have no accessory issues with the UR so no need to change. I am NOT saying, repeat, NOT saying there are any cons to purchasing the Brach cp if you still have oem. If I was still oem I would be buying one.

Well the way I see it, if you at least made the first batch for the alt, wp and ps, then you could wait for the crank pulley on the second round. Your still going to get it cheaper than most crank pulleys out there.

I went by the anodizer and I was not happy with it. They where like how the ALT pulleys where so they are going to touch them up. If I do not have them back tomorrow I will go ahead and post pictures of them as they where machined and done so you can see the design.

Update for you Mazdaspeed 3 and 6 guys. LIGHT WEIGHT PULLEYS are coming!!! If you post on other forums, please direct them over here. We need 50 people. The ALT will be the first to come out followed by the water pump pulley. They will be very affordable. As it stands the ALT pulley will be $40-$45 and the water pump around $60-$65. They will be made with the same quality that my current Protege pulleys are made. CNC bilet 6061 aluminum and anodized hard silver.

Is this in response to the PS pulley or the crank? The PS went out yesterday right?
