I would image that gas mileage would suffer quite a bit as it is already wrapping pretty good at 65MPH. Of course I am an old guy with three kids, a mortgage, braces to pay for, a kid in College soon etc so for me every MPG counts. :p
I say get rid of the limiter and hit that 145 on a closed track of course, of course.:D
Better yet give me Emanage and a 6th gear :cool:
Yeah I know it will never happen or be worth the cost at least me ;)

In all seriousness, i hit 132 and was still pulling before my brother pussied out and said to slow down.

That I still feel is true. No matter what we are not going to cross 140 mph. However it is possible that something in the MSP, in the fuel or air system is sensing load of some form and pulling fuel/spark/air.

Oy.....between all of these govenor threads over the past day or so I don't think I've ever seen so much BS. The simple fact is nobody here really knows and just posts whatever BS they think it is. Spicy Mc (no offence, I like reading your posts), but you're the biggest BS'er about this subject. In that other thread from a day or 2 ago you first said it was flat out drag limited, nothing else (even though the original poster said it's like it hits a wall - which obviously is not drag). Then 1st mentioned it might be gear limited and you said "oh yeah, it's drag and gear limited." Then ForceFed came on and mentioned the MAF limitation and you said that could be a possibility too. Then TheMan came on and said it was governed, so you've now changed your tune to it being governed but drag and gear limited after that. It's obvious you do not know what is limiting it so do not bother posting about it anymore. Chances are TheMan is probably correct and that it is governed...although that still doesn't answer why it doesn't always cut out at the same speed on the same car. All in all, unless you're on the track, who really cares?

If the car has a Governer at a certain speed, say at 125mph then the car will only go 125mph "not 127mph or 128mph but 125tops. The MZ6S has a (Governer at 120mph) it will only go 120mph not 121mph not 123mph, but only 120mph. I don't care if your drafting another car or not. It's govenered to (120Mph), same for the MSP. If it has a governer at 135mph then the governer is at 135mph. If people have been over 135mph, then the car is (drag limited). ;)
 
drag limited?!?! if we are drag limited at 130 mazda did a bad job...i havent had a chance to hit 130 yet but i will not belive its drag limited til i see for myself...that just doesnt make sense

What doesn't make sense. I mean if the car has a Governer at (110MPH), you won't go 111mph, 112mph, 113mph. You will only go 110MPH. people say the governer for the MSP is at 130-135mph fine. "whatever one it is, people have gone 136 -138mph, that mean's it's drag limited, to a certain speed that the car can reach, b/c of the aerodynamic body of the car. I've seen so many post people stating it's 130MPH, but people have been well over 130mph in the MSP. Also there was a thread about the MP3 saying there is a governer at 112mph and 132mph.

132-112=20mph difference. You see that's a huge difference being stated by people saying it's governer limited, when it's not. I own a 01MP3 which it has no Governer, and a 03MZ6S which is governered at (120MPH.) not 118, not 119, not 121, not 123mph, but at (120MPH).

Well I know when I was here and topped it out it was neither gear nor drag but an electronic limit IT WAS LIKE HITTING A WALL! Boom then I let off it did it around 130-135 I was not watching the speedo but rather the road it was not the MAF thing as in the cut because it was in July and very hot even at night so too much air it wasn't getting. All in all I know it was an artifical limit from the way it engaged. So I wish even if it was a bit more it could have hit the natural limit of gear or drag or both. L8ter.

I am 100% sure msp have a speed limiting govenor, it occurs at 128mph.

128, 130, 131, 135mph........yeah sure... the (Governer is set one day at 128mph, and then the next day it set's it at 130mph, "then next week it set's it to 131mph", then later on at night it set's it to 135mph, and then it just stop's there. :rolleyes:
