Good News!!

Well the other day I was talking to the owner of Airkooled Kustoms, A custom fabrication shop for VW's and now Mazda's. They do vehicle mods, custom paint jobs, and anything you can really think of. I was asking him about becoming his apprentice to learn how to work at his shop and learn the trade of what all they do. They need a couple people and I already have a bit of knowledge on, welding, grinding, cutting, and metal fabrication and working on cars. So on the 10th of November I will be starting my apprenticeship, it is three months long and unpaid after the three months I will be hired on full time being paid very well. I'm very excited I get to work on cars and work on my project car plus working on other people's cars. I will keep you guys informed on how the apprenticeship is going.

Sounds like a good opportunity if it turns into a job after the 3 months.

Well after the three months and you don't get out on full time you get another month of training. But I'm very confident in my abilities so I shall do fine.

Well started working today, was a long day got in at 9am left at 6, never got a chance to eat, take a break or sit down. When I got home I was in pain. Also covered in crap, from paint, sulfuric acid, grinding dust, and rust. But all in all a great day, very happy I have a job that doesn't feel like a job.

I'd be curious on any 'apprentice' position that was totally unpaid especially that you can continue to work for free should a full-time position doesn't open up.

I am sure it's fun to be in the heat of battle in a custom shop, but what are you doing for income?
