2017~2025 Hail dinged up CX-5 chrome window trim

My Mazda made it through relatively unscathed from some recent hail storms, but I can see some dents where hail managed to catch the window chrome trim on the sides of the car and left a few dents.

Are these just held on with adhesive or are they clipped in?

Also considering if just throwing black vinyl over it would hide the small dents enough or just end up with black and dented appearance. Just starting to explore my options, first thought being if they're just adhesive then floss/pry them off and try to fix the dents and reaffix.

If on the quarter glass, the mouldings are encapsulated, actually a part of the glass assembly. Not repairable. The lower widow mouldings, belt molding, maybe just snapped in place, but may also be adhesive with snaps.
