good idea or no?

i want to take off the liner on the underside of my hood, will this get my hood to hot, and mess up the paint, or should i just leave it.

that liner is there to protect he hood from overheating and warping. plus it acts as a fire extinguisher. if the engine catches fire, the whole thing falls on it and might just suffocate the flame

well... mine is off and has been since july because the dumb fuc*ers that put my engine in threw it away just because one of the plastic pieces that hold it on were broke(notcool)... But nothing has happened so far and there were some hot days toward the end of summer while sitting in traffic

I'd like to do the same thing actually. Mine has a tear in one spot that doesn't really agree with me. I don't see why it can't be removed I thought it was meant mostly for sound reduction?

However, if it has a tear and part dangles (not on the left side near belts) couldn't it be more of a hazard than help?
