Ok all,

I will be re-emailing the gentleman that worked in the MSP program for Callaway. I previously emailed the general mgr of operations, and was directed to the Gentleman that actually had the test mule for questions.

So, gimmie your questions, albiet, technical, regarding the rich/open loop/stumbling/hesitation issues we have. I will present them to this guy at the end of the week. 6-13-03 so get em in now.

either post em here or email me them at sportuningguru@yahoo.com.

My questions are the same as everyone else's.
Why does it stumble?
Can we get the callaway program?
How much power/torque did their program generate?
Did their car run the same boost level as a stock msp, or did mazda turn it down?
did their program have any of the issues we have???

I can answer at least one of those questions...the Callaway MP3 was running 5-6 psi. That's what I was told by the folks from callaway that I met at the car show a couple weeks ago. They also weren't aware of the hesitation...

Other than that...my questions are the same. Damn MUSA needs to fix this!

I agree.

Ask them if they can get Mazda to have a bulletin out so that people can take their cars back and get them remapped/flashed w/o any G.D. hessitation on the dealers

Has Mazda actually contacted them regarding the fuel map/timing/hesitation/stumbling issue like has been reported by some dealers? Are they working on a cure?

Britt

My questions are the same as everyone elses. If they want to feel the hesitation first hand, I'll be more than happy to drive down there (I might be one of the closest to their CT facilities on this board). If they want to run some tests with my car, I'll be happy to do that too. Offer me up as a test subject.
Thanks,
Jesse

Why does it feel like the peak 'pull feel' is at 3500-4500rpm?..
I understand that's where the peak torque is....But after 4500rpm the car doesn't feel like it's pulling as strong after that. Shouldn't the HP's take over by now all the way to redline? I just doesn't feel as strong.

lol will do orangemsp. sounds good guys, seem its the same across the board. So I will email them tomorrow.

Ohh orangemsp, btw, you still got that boosted car warning. the one with the bra on it ? could you send me a copy of that to sportuningguru@yahoo.com . I wanna get one made for my car :D

can you ask them why the rpms rise and fall constantly during idle? happens with a/c on and after pushing the car hard (ie, passing a row of cars on the street b4 a stop light)

rpms rise/fall like that in every car I've ever had. Now, how severe are we talking here? 100 rpms up/dwn? 400 up/dwn?

Aface, IF you got a K%N Installed, its because the cooling fans are blowing hot air into the filter. That is an issue I had, also check out my dyno sheets with the k%n installed, I lost up to 10 ftlbs of torque.

The email has been sent. Lets see how long it takes to get a response. :D Ill post it in a new thread.

i don't have anything done to my engine bay yet. no k&n, no filter, no hacked box, nothing. it does it when the fan is on or not.

and its pretty severe. i mean the rpm needle is sweeping. it rises and falls about 3-400. yesterday when i pulled into my friends driveway, it started to shake cuz the rpms were so low. i had just pushed the car hard up his street cuz there were impalas on hydros that i had just got in front of that were goin really fast.

Mine does that too, fluctuates about 700-800 rpm, usually ends up stalling after about 10 seconds of this.

Hrrrm, Well I did mention this in the email, So we will see. Im thinkin its all related to the same ECU issue. Wil check my email in a few.
