The are lighter then stock pulleys, so they reduced the weight the engine has to spin, there fore freeing up more horsepower. It takes away rotating mass...like putting on a lightwieght flywheel.

on a reg 3 your talking 6-8hp...not sure about a turbo'd car though, most likely around the same.

Update for you Mazdaspeed 3 and 6 guys. LIGHT WEIGHT PULLEYS are coming!!! If you post on other forums, please direct them over here. We need 50 people. The ALT will be the first to come out followed by the water pump pulley. They will be very affordable. As it stands the ALT pulley will be $40-$45 and the water pump around $60-$65. They will be made with the same quality that my current Protege pulleys are made. CNC bilet 6061 aluminum and anodized hard silver. Please post here

Do you have any 3s or 6s that have the pulleys installed? I might be interested in these.

I've had pullies on other cars, and from my experience, the most benificial one is a smaller/lighter crank pully (mostly due to the smaller part, not the lighter), which they're not even offering for some reason... why is this? in my opinion, unless you are looking for a dressier engine bay, this mod is not worth it. I sincerely doubt that saving 1-2 lbs in rotational mass translates to 5 hp. maybe someone has a justification for this that is different from my experiences? I am a big fan of efficiency horsepower, but I just don't see this as being worth it unless there is a crank pully included.

Being a fan of efficient HP then you would appreciate light weight pulleys. If you do a search anywhere on the net you will see that there are true gains in lossing rotating mass. A few people that have our Protege Pulleys see a 5whp gain across the board. As a fan of HP myself, I would not make it if they did not work.

I guess my real question is, why isn't the crank pully included? this seems to be the most benificial one.
