i've had a few requests for an affordable intake manifold so i turned on the amm status to see if the interest level is high enough to justify bringing the part to market. Here's what i would be offering:
Fully tig welded aluminum construction
velocity stacks inside the plenum
cnc cut flanges
one vacuum port (a vac manifold could be an option)
provisions to mount the stock fuel rail and stock throttlebody
egr delete
i'm working to get the pricing down to $350 for a bare bones setup and $400 with hardware & gaskets. There would be no other options at this price point. I don't want to take deposits until i have a finished manifold on a car, but i do need at least 10 people to make this worth my while.
I am cool with not having an EGR. I'd have to do a little more research but I am sure the PCM can be fooled into thinking the EGR is working just like a rear O2 or anything else for that matter. I think EGR is a BS emissions requirement whose environmental benefits are far outweighed by its complexity and detriment to performance and reliability.
If we stay under $400 I am interested, but the 505 looks too home brew for my tastes, so I'd definitely need to see a finished product first.
Lol home brew?
+1, what do you mean by home brew?
I am firmly in the camp of the simplest solution is the best solution, and the 505 is as simple as it gets. I mean no offense, but for the price of the 505 I would expect it to be a CNC'd work of art like the Steedspeed was.
