Getting a MacBook!

well the fanboyism will never stop, that's for sure. it seems that whatever OS a person finds best to fit his needs, is the one that everyone else should be using. I personally use linux at home because it's free and suits my needs, haven't had an issue with it so far, except when trying to install/run luxuries and/or beta/unstable software. If i've been running solely on linux, i'm sure i won't have a problem running osx. If i get a mac book pro, i can triple boot all 3 platforms if i wanted/needed to, and that's a big plus in my book.

Have fun with your single mouse button. :-P
that was my only compliant.. so I replaced it the same day with a 2 button/scroll wheeled mousey.. :D

I use a 3-Button Logitech mouse with the MacBook Pro. Using the single mouse button when I'm mobile isn't a problem though, it's fairly intuitive...

ya i dont think the 'stock' 1 button mouse is gonna scare me away from buying a mac heh. it's not like it's hardwired into the motherboard

To each their own is exactly right. There are pros and cons to each one. But Man those commercials make me want to strangle that stuck up smug looking preppie mac kid and his lying mouth......but that would be un-Christian. :)

actually if you read Corinthians, there's a clause that allows you to be able to kill just one person throughout your life time, like a freebie, no strings attached. I don't know if it's worth it to use it up on the mac kid though.

I'm not familiar with that verse or clause. I would appreciate some info on it. I know the Bible states that there is a time for everything peace, war, etc. But I don't think me wanting to kill that annoying Mac guy is worth going to war over.

well if you really love your OS, you will do whatever it takes

Are you trying to say I don't love my OS enough? Who are you to judge me huh? I've got an "I love Bill Gates" bumper sticker on my P5 and I kiss my PC every night before I go to bed so don't you DARE tell me I don't love my OS enough you.....you.... JERK!

B+ for effort. C- for material. Would've been a C+ but you used the word jerk

Darn it. My comedic skills fail me once again. I'll get it right next time! :)

BTW, any advice for a substitute for the word jerk?

Triple boot FTW. I used to triple boot in college.

Linux is pretty good, but some of the creature comforts and killer apps (for me) are still not yet matched in my eyes, which prevents me from using linux full time.

Right, but on a laptop, that requires you to plug in something externally. What if you're just looking to use it say...on your lap?

On a laptop, you're stuck with it, unless you're using it on a desk or something though.

It's just one of those many small things that Apple refuses to be flexible on, and it just doesn't make any sense. It's 2007, ship your notebooks with two mouse buttons. My 20 year old PC had two mouse buttons. I feel like sometimes Apple is different for the sake of being different, regardless of how impractical that difference may be.

You wanna hang out tonight? I'll make us dinner.
