Yeah.. if anyone knows what they are doing (cause I didnt) can you help me get that gap to go away? Huge gap between the grill and hood.. (pic 1)

and the gaps between the driver and passenger fenders and hood (last two pics) are different..

Thanks in advanced guys.

wow, that's not good at all... Huge gap in the front under the lip...
yup.. seems to curve upwards eh?

hm.. the box was all smashed up too.. but no damage to the hood.. maybe the way it was sitting upside down in the van that brought it to me.. warped it all out of shape..

(sobs)

is the hood hitting anything in the front that is causing it to close all the way? that gap over the grill is huge. it looks like the hood is warped. see if you can get niv to let gemini see the pics to see if they can help you out

what sucks is that your across the ocean and having to send this back and forth is goign to suck. Looks like a manufacturing defect to me..... we'll wait on the builders/makers to chime in.

Uh.. those are coming in... ^_^ didnt i buy them from you?

lol

Yeah.. I left a message in niv's thread.. hoping he sees this.. and passes it along to gemini..

I checked.. it 'feels' like somethings holding it up.. but cant see anything that is.. I installed it using their instructions too..

I'll just wait.. see what they say.. if not, I'll just take it to a shop..

leave any tools under the hood?
no.. I triple check that now.. I used to all the time.. thankfully never anywhere that would break anything.. I'd be just putting my tools away and be like..

WTF.. where is my wrench.. open hood.. right there on valve cover.. bah

but yeah.. nothing underneath..

hooked up wiper nozzles too.. I even moved the battery terminal to the side mount.. took off the strut tower brace...

lowered both rubber stoppers pretty much all the way down (but when I do that, driver side pretty much rubs the headlight.. so I lift it up halfway..)

dunno.. cant seem to figure it out..

if you have any foam of something that you can tape to the underside of the hood to see if when you close it, if it leaves a mark then you know what is in the way if anything at all

the trick to fitting the hood is to get the screws for the hood on ... but loose... and position the hood where you want it.. then very carefully lift it back up and tighten the screws.

if the hood is higher in the front on one side than on the other, try taking a look at the latch itself just before it goes into the recieving catcher. it has to line up just right or it'll make the front torque and look like it's higher on one side. (and also be very hard to close) if that's the case try loosening up the 4 bolts holding the latch on and slide the latch so that it will come down in the middle of the latch lock channel.

lemme know how it goes.

belive me.. I tried all of that.. but i was alone.. soo.. gonna find some one to help me tonight. ^_^

im late for work.. gonna get it sorted out after work.. let you know how it works out.. hope I can get it to fit..

the other thing, just looking at your pics... i have that gap too. (between grill and hood) that's b/c there's no weather stripping on the hood to make it look like there's no gap, i'm thinking.

try the above suggestions and see if it fixes the hard to close bit.

This is the EXACT problem im having too...

the latch alignement could be the issue.. take a really close look at it. just has to be like 2 mm out and it'll be a biotch to close.

This is why I had my hood adjusted at my body shop. Just went in and brought some beer. All done, no probs. They had it adjusted up perfectly in about 20 minutes or 3 beers...

well, spent another hour trying to get it to align.. no go...

cant get it.. dunno .. prob get it done at a body shop..
