Now, be VERY cautious about that oil pressure gauge. There have been some members here that have had them and the connection came lose or broke and oil went *everywhere*.

well, s***! maybe i should send it back for a electric one?

Definitely get the elec. oil pressure gauge over the mechanical ... just for the simple safety margin.

As for Autometer, my bf has them in his 99 cougar and they are really nice and perform well for their given functions.

However, when we chose gauges for the p5, we turned to AC Autotechnic for their new S7 line of gauges -- LOVE THEM

Nice....I didn't realize that Nopi carried them too...maybe I'll get my boost there, w/ that cheap Faze single pod until I have the $$ for another gauge & the full A-pillar pod (I'm on a TIGHT budget! LOL!)

Check out www.speedpeople.com They have reasonable prices for their products, as well as good prices for pillar pods. That's where I got my new dual.:)

Personally I bought Autometer gauges because they matched the instrument cluster of the MSP, but most importantly I got the gauges because I use them as a tool to help monitor and tune my car. Because autometer may be a cheap product doesn't mean there useless. Even if they are not accurate like the expensive gauges, it gives you at least a guideline to start from and what to pay attention to when driving your car to extreme measures. I watch my gauges all the time, especially at WOT (peak boost) with my boost turned up. I already had one occasion where I was driving and I lost all the vacuum pressure on my boost gauge  . Lucky it was only a cracked vacuum "T" at the vacuum line. Good luck with your new gauges boostedmazda and welcome to the board.:D

um i think the reason
every one here has autometer is THEY MATCH OUR GAUGES
(werd)
I bought mine for this exact reason. I WOULD have gotten the Greddy Warning Series, but they are almost twice as expensive, and I didn't have that kind of cash lying around when I did my gauge/mbc install. I'm 100% happy with mine.

i got my gauges, and now it's time for install....where did everyone go through the firewall at, i did a search and got confused, and same with the the wires to the dimmer, thanks.

I used the wire that dims the stereo for my lights. You can easily use the lights to the park lights except you won't be able to dim.

Look behind the battery, there is a rubber grommet about 1 inch tall and 2 inches wide with wires from the... well almost everything going through them. The wires will come out on the drivers side behind the clutch pedal sensor. Later...Brian

Other than that fact that I see them on EVERY "modded" car there is around here, regardless of if it's a slammed import or a lifted 4x4 redneck truck. Be different, people. Just because they're cheaper it seems *everyone* on here has Autometer gauges with a very select few that have spent decent money (>$100) on quality gauges.

hey hey hey now!
I plan on getting Autometer Gauges, but they arent really cheap.
The cobalt seris will match my Head unit and Gauge cluster, so i am going to get those, but everyone wants like 180 dollars for the damn boost gauge. Its Redonkulous.
