These pods are not COVERS, they are actual plastic replacements for your steering column and look completely FACTORY! For everyone going the Turbo route, this is a MUST HAVE!!!!! For all you N/A'ers out there this is the perfrect addition to your interior to house any gauge you want!

They'll be ready sometime in June, the one you see here and on my site is just a preview of the prototype, more information will be available as it is released. Let me know if you guys have ANY questions, post them here or PM me.

As for price, they are expected to be ~$85 US. But of course, if they see a higher demand the price may fluxuate. SO POST, POST, POST!!!

We may even be able to get a group buy going so post here if you're interested.

EXACTLY, it's perfect... it looks like a factory Mazda part, it's definitely SWEET!! :D

I'll definetely take one. I need something else for my air/fuel gauge though. Any Ideas. I want to do something other than on the pillar like every other car. Maybe a carbonfiber plate that will replace the cup holder. They are pretty much usless anyway.

What about something that would go in that space behind the cup holders, below the ash tray?

That would be pretty easy to make I bet... I'll find out

It's holding up GREAT!! No problems with it whatsoever. I was thinking of putting in a Nitrous Pressure gauge in that pod, but as it turns out I put in a boost gauge instead. *wink *wink ;)

Quite your yam shute

Quite your yam shute and fetch my damn guage pod.LOL

Me found a place to put my oil pressure gauge. let me know when there available. I want one.

I love this pod!!!:)

But are you planing to do a dual pod piece? I need one for the boost gauge and one for the Air/Fuel gauge. I think it can look very good with 2 pod on the colomn. My gauges are there right now and this is very fonctionnal.

Stou,

A few people have asked if they're making a dual pod, so I think they're looking into it. I know I'd want one...

I'll let you know.

Hey I would want one that could be put inside my Glove box so I could just look in there when I needed to tune. I think that would be sick!!!

I'll probably still stick with ones on the frame...I need 3 guages...A/F, oil temp, boost. And it wouldn't fit on the steering column.

Stou, how many WHP do you have? What PSI?

ok, I'm kind of joking, but kind of serious too. I have no real reason to want one because I won't be doing any mods that would require it...but, one thing that kind of erks me it that other than the radio (which is often tough to read), there is no clock in the car...If i could manage to get a clock up in that piece, it may be worth it...:D
I've been tossing around different ways to put an analog type of clock in the car and this would be the most asthetically correct looking way to do it...opinions? rips on me (other than, "dude, get a watch" or something stupid like that)? all are welcome...:D

Kooldino, I'm runing at 8 psi. I didn't get it on a dyno yet, so I don't realy know how much whp I got. I'm waiting for my ACT clutch before getting on a dyno. I'm supposed to get it in around 2 weeks.

As soon as my clutch is installed I'll do some dyno run.

==UPDATE==

I just spoke with the company, and asked them about the colors of the pod, and told him about all the questions you've been asking and he said this, "We are currently making the pods in all colors available for the 3rd Gen Proteges."

So, I guess that takes care of that. He also said the A-Pillar replacement will be ready shortly after the steering column pod. Couldn't get a price on those yet, but they did say that it will be a replacement pillar, not a cheap cover. Their goal is to make everything look factory spec it seems.

I'll keep ya posted!!

:D

They're HERE!!!

That's right, I told you I'd keep you updated... and here they are! :D

It looks like the final production cost (including shipping to anywhere in continental US) is $84.99. Like I said before, these pods replace the factory upper steering column cover with a 2 1/16" gauge pod. Shown here:
