funniest thing I've ever heard LOL....what is Skyactiv ?

I started shopping last Feb. I read all I could find and watched every Youtube I could find.
This video is what convinced me to get a CX5 in May.

lol, I just bought what was on the lot and didn't look like a POS. Seriously. That's about how I went with it. Got on Autotrader one morning after pumping iron and selected "4,6 cylinder, automatic, AWD, <50K miles, SUV body style, <25K, 2013-2016" and there was a decent looking CX-5 that popped up <1 mile from home. So I went and bought it after googling for about 45 minutes and making sure it wasn't the next Yugo.

Tbh when I got my 13 cx5 i was coming out of a 4wd 07 escape. My mom got me thinking about getting a new car. I had been going from dealer to dealer looking for escape sized suvs and right before they were closing I ended up at Mazda and with little knowledge about it got one lol. Turned out tl be a good choice.

I too watched as many CX-5 videos I could before I made my decision on the CX-5 and this one was one of my favorites video. I still have it saved.... his other videos are fun too... after this video, and of course the test drives ( I test drove the CX-5 three times from there different dealers) before making the purchase...

I also like his "no auto rear lift" fill the burn part...

Thanks for sharing the video.....

I made a snap decision. I only spent about 4 months doing my homework on the CX-5 but my old car was starting to get expensive. It still makes me grin when I get to push it hard on a back road.

I had a VW Rabbit and I really wanted a Tiguan(something bigger), but when I have seen the "trunk" area how small it was, I have walk away. I have considered the Ford Escape and Honda CRV, but they did not won me over. I haven't even looked at Subaru. When I sat and drove a little bit, I have felt like this car is tailored for me. It was very close, to my ex VW. The Rabbit it was an excellent car, no issues at all in over 6 years. MPGs were a bit bad(20-21).

The Savage Geese review sealed it for me, too. I looked at 15-20 other video reviews, as well as Edmund's, KBB, etc. and decided nothing other than a CX-5 for me. I did a 240-mile trip yesterday and averaged 33 mpg (60 mph average), and I loved driving every mile. Plus, I get a workout every time I lift the hatch.

I have to admit the "SkyActiv" badge intrigued me, though I still don't know exactly what it means.

Actually i went to a vw dealership looking at a tiguan, and they wouldn't approve me, right before I went to mazda. Also I met an old Hungarian ex mig21 pilot ( now living in wyoming) on an aviator Facebook page, and it made me think of you lol

My wife's KIA Soul was getting up there in miles. She looked at the Ford Escape, Honda CRV(is it just me or are Hondas and Toyotas going through a REALLY ugly design phase?) and a new Soul. She liked the Ford but ended up liking the features of the Mazda more. So far she loves it. First Mazda we've ever owned.

I was pretty much sold on the Forrester. My wife didn't care for how it drove, and I do think Subaru's are a bit truck-like. We decided to give the CX5 a test drive. I sat in the back while she drove and watched her engagement with the car (she smiled) and decided that was the car. It was a natural for her to drive and feel comfortable. Sold.
