Well, my car is running like garbage! I would not be able to run it at the track or anything. Its bad enough were i have thought about taking it back and buying a car with a different company!! So i have to get mine done.

What you're experiencing might not have anything to do with the ECU

there have been people who have gotten the reflash and still have the same problem.....

I hope your not screwin with me.... Cause I have my CAI so they will not fix it for me since I have that on there probably..

It's hard to say what exactly is wrong with your car, I just know there have been people who posted that they've gotten the reflash and then had the problem again and that the dealer did the reflash again?

I dunno if it's the same problem related to yours, but you can try it.

If you plan to take the car in for ANY WORK be sure to remove mods.

What I would like to see is a comparison between the filter elements of a Fujitsu vs Mazdaspeed or CP-E.

Does one look cheep and flimsy?

Do the more expensive Intakes have a better more robust filter?

My experience from previous cars is that the real money is in the filter. A CAI is noting more than a piece of bent piping with some holes for various fittings. You could make one out of PVC pipe from Home Depot if you wanted.

The important thing is the filter element. Does it do its job? Is it the right size?

Second on the list would be MAF placement. It should be in a section of even air flow. So no after a bend I would think.

As far as I know people seem to like the CP-E better....... also CP-E guarantees their parts won't throw a CEL on your car..... I don't know if Fujita or even the Mazdaspeed (AEM) intake offers that.

The Fujita CAI looks like a quality piece. The filter looks ok.but as most know..the true gains are not from the CAI but rather the air filter used. I plan to upgrade to a Apexi filter..they flow much better

I have done the ghetto route..using pvc pipe..But i prefer the look of a polished pipe..

As mentioned above..the filter supplied with my CAI was fine..but plan to upgrade in time to a better filter.

About maf placement..i don't really think it's gonna play a major role for a CAI.

Allot of people like cpe..and others prefer mazdaspeed. the short ram air intake will def throw a CEL..i havne't heard any reports of the mazdaspeed or the Fujita throwing CEL.

My AEM has not tossed any codes

Well, in case you don't know, the Mazdaspeed CAI is basically the AEM CAI rebadged with the "mazdaspeed" logo on it, so I wouldn't expect it to throw a CEL

I found Fujita filters for 199 plus free shipping on eBay, maybe I'll go that route?

I would really prefer the CP-E though because they now have that "water block" thingy that helps keep the filter more dry in wet weather.

But because everything is money and I'm still paying to go to college so I can get a Master's...... I think I'm gonna go with the Fujita cause it's cheaper...

You wallet will thank you....Not sure what the water block is..but if it's like this:

Than it will prob hurt performance b/c it's pulling in warm air (depending on where it's mounted)

To be honest I'm not entirely sure wtf the "water block" thing is, (rofl2)

And the people I've met with the CP-E don't have one and don't know what it is, but I remember reading about it.

I'm thinking of going with the Fujita....... you have one on your speed6 yes? You like it? Does it make the car sound better over stock like the CP-E ?

I can't speak for CPE..i haven't heard a MS6 w/ any of their products.

Yes i have the Fujita..

About the Fujita CAI vs. mazdaspeed cai vs cpe and such...I honestly think it's just a pipe with a filter on it..So will there be much of a difference in sound or power..I think not.

For the price..Fujita was it..with the extra $$ i saved...i can afford other upgrades like the TEST/RACE Pipe.

I think the sound w/ the fujita..is great..And the car is still uber quite..which a big thing for me..My brother stated he heard my bov 2 blocks away..i was in 1st gear 3500rpms at WOT when i let off.

Power wise with the Fujita..i really didn't notice anything at first...but 2nd tank filled and i started to feel that the turbo spools faster and car feels stronger in 5th and 6th. Guess ecu needed time to re-adjust itself. and yes i did reset ecu after install.

Well considering how the company's "claim" things

the mazdaspeed is the AEM... as far as I know AEM tests every part to insure it makes the gains that they claim on it. and I do recall reading that AEM claims a 94% efficiency over other CAIs for our car.

Do you have the stock BOV or do you have an aftermarket BOV? Just asking, I don't want my car TOO quiet, I still want it a little loud enough for people to hear ;)

I think I'll just go with Fujita, lol and change the filter out ASAP with the best I can find.

Stock bov..for now..And an intake is not going to make the car loud but it does make the bov much more audible (Even with windows up).

Sorry I didn't mean loud like the exhaust rumble, I meant loud like the "whoosh" you hear from the intake sucking in air and from the BOV :D

I think I'll save myself almost $200 and get the Fujita, that way the $200 saved allows me to buy a better BOV (yippy)
