woot woot had to install the fujita again last night after returning from the dealership. took about 30 minutes or less now.
Stupid question but... why would you take the CAI off in the Winter? Just curious... because honestly I would think about leaving mine on.
i know its been discussed like crazy here, but im still kinda nervous about water getting in... and i live in Montreal Canada so it gets kinda white and wet here yano>? on my P5 i had a CAI and left it on all winter no prob so ya i guess it wouldnt be soo bad
Like I've said before, I would just put a hydroshield on come first frost, or whenever you put your winter wheels on, then take it back off when the weather breaks and the snow is gone. Just another thing on the spring/fall maintenance checklist.
CAI for the win.
SRI+summer=lots o hot air.
That's irrelevant while you're driving though....... the same with the CAI you're not really getting performance while it's sitting there in that stuffy fender well and you're not moving
and a the SRI will show performance while moving, same as the CAI.... that's kind of why they call it a "ram" intake, since the air is supposed to be rammed into it.
I think the best benefit with a SRI would be if you have a FMIC though.... because then you could build an "enclosure" to use the opening of the front grill to channel air into a scoop and into the SRI
otherwise if you're leaving the car generally stop and leaving the stock IC, then I'd go with CAI.... yeah.
My point was that when the car is at a stand still..the sri will be pulling in warm air..TMIC will heatsoak faster.
The CAI is pulling air from the wheel well which is def going to be cooler than the temps under the hood.
With my old p5..i ran an SRI and had issues in heavy stop and go traffic..the car would feel laggy..once the car was moving it was a beast though.
same here. I would go nuts worrying about water if I had a cai. So its sri for me. Also the difference with gains on a turbo car are minimal betweem sri and cai.True, from a stop I get your point... that's why I said I'd go with the SRI if I had a FMIC... and go with the CAI if I was leaving most of the car stock (which I believe snooky is doing).
Where I live now, when it rains HARD, the parking lot gets flooded and the water level comes about halfway up my wheel........ so a CAI isn't really an option for me unless I want hydrolock![]()
