Front End "ClunK"

My first post about my first Mazda.

I just purchased a 2010 Mazda 3 5 door sport and have an issue that is driving me crazy. At seemingly random frequencies I get a clunk coming from the front passenger side of the car. I had the car for three days and took it back to the dealer. After driving around with the service manager he said that the clunk is coming from the front suspension bottoming out and that it is normal and stems from the "tight suspension" of this sports car

This clunk happens over pot holes, speed bumps, while turning etc. I also have an older BMW M3 which I would consider more sporting that the Mazda and I don't bottom it out.

Is this a common problem or normal? It is driving me nuts.

Thanks in advance,
Brad

I have 28,000 miles on my 2010 MZ3 and I don't get any sort of clunking coming from the suspension. Sounds to me that the shock is either bad or maybe the strut mount needs to be replaced; this happened on my 2007 Volvo S60R. Have you done any suspension modifications?

i get the same clunk but ive installed eibach 1" springs, and the front end was replaced along with driver side control arm due to a recent wreck. I'm not surprised its makin a sound.

Check the FSB bushings, happend on my MS3 replaced them and clunk is gone.
You can put car on lift and reach over from back and put your hands on the bushing mounts and have someone move one of the front wheels and if bad you will feel the movement in bushings.

Happened to me, took it to the dealer they drove 50miles on it, said it's the bushings replaced it and it never did a damn thing.

We had a front end clunk in our 3 that was a pain to reproduce. It ended up being the bushings in the front crossmember.
