Front and rear license plates

Question is, does anyone have a plate mount for the front or rear? I just put my plates on and the rear plate rattles like a mf'er. When I picked her up I asked about mounts/brackets and was told they just screw straight onto the front bumper and hatch. I said okay, I guess. There are dimples on the front bumper where I assumed the plate would bolt on and the holes they drilled are an inch narrower than the dimples and the hatch now has some sort of nut type things in it. I am far less than satisfied with the whole set up. What kind of mounts do you guys have?

I have purchased, a set of black frame and smoked cover for the plates.
I had the plastic licence plate from the dealer though.

I am running plateless front. I hate how front plates look, but it is illegal in most states. I haven't gotten a ticket in either one of my cars for years without front plates (knock on wood), but I don't recommend it for obvious reasons.

For the CX-5, the front screws into the bumper itself via the pre-dimpled holes. There are no mounts. For the rear there are no dedicated plate mounts either. It does rattle and the best thing to prevent rattling is to use door insulation foam with a stick backside. Slap a few strips onto the back of the plate and mount it.

Those dimples are an inch away from where the holes are drilled so I know that isn't right. Furthermore a plastic bumper isn't the best thing to run a screw into and expect it to stay secure over time, then again I shouldn't have to remove the front plate or the rear for that matter. As far as the back goes, there are dimples that look like a bracket or mount would or could have been screwed into it although there are no holes in the hatch for it. I just don't like at all. Seems like they went the cheap route is all.

If you buy an official Mazda plate frame, it comes with spacers so the plate/frame does not touch the car. They are a bit pricey ($20-$30), but worth it. I have one for the rear plate that says "zoom zoom". For the front I just went with a cheapo black plate from autozone...it has no spacers but it doesn't vibrate as far as I know - I don't hear anything anyway.

The frame comes with black covers for the mounting screws too.

Or you could do this:

Flip down plate frame. Stealthy. ;)

The same bumper is retained in other markets where a longer plate is used. They are just for centering reference.

Is it that, or is it that the dimples are lined up for Mazda's front license plate bracket? I know the one that came with my CX-9 had screw holes outboard of the plate mounting holes.
