Alright.........I wish I could do both but i just think im lucky that i have the option of doing one. im about to get a msp and its only engine mod is injen cai and greddy exhaust. Im trying to decide between getting the thumper kit while running on stock internals or to get the mental addiction forged motor and a haltech e6x with the stock turbo. if i got the thumper i would DEFFINITELY keep it at 6-10psi. i wouldn't risk blowing the motor. But which should i do? Going forged with engine mangement would give me great gains but i really raelly want a fmic, bov (gotsta have the "whooosh") and a downpipe. And the thumper comes with all that and more!!! what do you guys think?

forged

do you want reliable and fast, or kinda fast and its gonna blow to s***. And if you got a forged engine, you would need a front mount, I would suggest the BEGI front mount, not to much $$ and you get one of the best cores out there.

really? why?

so what about get the built motor and the mental addiction (i just REALLY like thier company/products) FMIC?

apply to be one of their 50 state sponsor peoples.

And I agree. go forged first. Do the turbo right or else you'll be doing both in rapid succession.

forged, AND thumper

god i really wish!!! But theres no way. its one now.......the other 2 years or so from now. And theres NO WAY i could do the other sooner than that unless i hit the lottery.

dont fix something unless its broke.

thumper...

I have forged and thumper, but i doubt the stock internals will last for long on 7-10 psi of gt3037 bliss.

Plus there is no point to the thumper if you are only pushing 7-10 psi into that thing.
I have just recently opened her up to 13 psi and she screams. 285 whp is fun :)

what would be the point? you would have an awesome engine that would suck dicks because the intercooler cant handle the extra heat from high boost, the engine would eventualy cook because of high intake temps

does anyone else agree with this? (im not trying to deny it, i just want as many opinions as posible)

so you say thumper but that i wouldn't even last long on 7psi? then shouldn't i do forged first?

also, i am very new to all the turbo stuff so please bear with me.............you say the stock internals would go out? well if its forged dont you have forged internals? or is that a seperate buy?

I would say go Thumper. If you keep the boost 8psi and lower you'll make great power and still have a reliable setup. To have a built motor and not push it makes no sense.Get the Thumper kit and keep the boost low.
well the idea behind getting a built motor wa to be able to crank up the psi on the stock turbo.

def forged..just get some kind of engine management and larger injectors and you can boost 14-15psi out of the stock turbo

Do the Thumper kit.At 6-8psi you'll be fine as long as you have good tuning. The GT3037 won't be in it's efficiency range at 6-8psi, so you won't be getting those crazy numbers people say. At 6-8psi you'll make around 200whp.

but could i depend on the motor at 6-8psi? will it last?

what kind of numbers could i get going
forged with the haltech?
forged with the fmic?

Have you looked at the Sleeper kit?
The New Sleeper kit is awesome. Tubular manifold,GT28Rs,etc..

yeah but i dont want to buy a lower kit and then later buy the bigger one. to me that would be a waste of money. the thumper is what i really want. i cant settle for a lesser kit.

please... wtf is the point of that huge turbo if you cant use it? Go thumper... then youll motor will blow and youll have a reason to buy a forged block.

Tunning will give you more HP and you could just port everything and put the stock turbo to 15-16 with tunning and a forged block youll have about 220-230 if not a lil more. Then to top it all off it'll be reliable.

well what about built motor with high boost and no fmic? would the lack of a fmic cause the engine to run too hot and burn up?

Keep in mind spool up and such. A smaller turbo will spool up faster, meaning you'll get power sooner. A larger turbo takes longer to spool up and will build up more hp higher. Would you rather have more power sooner that lasts longer in the powerband, or have much more power that lasts less in the powerband?

Also the SS kit has the super happy mushroom exhaust manifold, helping spool up the turbo much faster. (does the thumper have it too?)
