Forge BOV

Okay...I talked to tom and was ready to pick one up today. He said they are waiting for the silicone hose adapters. Its comes form a outside source like TheJohnny said, they have 2 sources making the silicone hose. He says one source takes about ten weeks and the other about 2 weeks. But hes said they should have a kit (hopefully) within 2-3 weeks. He also comfirmed the price will be $150. I can call him later on about a group buy. Not sure if they can do it or not but Tom and goerge are pretty cool.

I will try to post sound clips..if I see cory. Which will probally be wednesday. (stayed tuned). Cory sounds Badass cuz he has a CAI. Or I just might get sound clips from scott this weekend at the Florida State meet.

Please post sound clips. Does this BOV/BPV get rid of some of the turkey? I read that its still there but Im wandering if it helps a little.

NM, got the thing on. It looks oh so nice, although I had to reuse the stock hose where the plug goes in, looks like the pic on the first page had an aftermarket hose there. I am getting stalling only after a high rev to idle, and not every time. I checked for leaks and haven't felt any but I am using the stock (vaccum?) line, that is on the top end of the BOV. I declined to install the blue hose they gave me which I'm guessing would go there, so I hope that isn't causing the stalling. I'll have pics/movies tonight, we're goin out to film them now. It does sound awesome, not really noticible inside the car but it has a great whoosh style sound to it outside the car. I can only imagine what it sounds like with an intake and more boost.

the best way is to cut them off or us a set of pliers to wiggle them loose.

Well there is no stalling. Cory said he only stalled when he was doing 135 mph shifting into Neutral. But for everday driving i havent heard any complaints about stalling. Andre who is stock havent stalled yet. but I will be tlaking to them this wednesday and let you know what they say. Or they might post.

I am currently working on the clips, should have them done by 9pm eastern. Let me explain the stall outs. They all occurred when I had gone from about 4k rpms or so to neutral and it happened about 3 times. Many other times it would peg out but not stall. After driving it around all day I haven't gotten it to stall in the past 2 hours or so of driving but I'm still going to be testing this out. My car is completely stock, oh btw, I called Tom at Forge and he did confirm that the blue hose in my kit does nothing. Anyway, so far so good, it doesn't seem to be absolutely stall free, for me at least, but very manageable.

What happened to the sound clips? Do you like it?

Sorry guys, I'm wrestling with my friend's Sony Digital 8 camcorder. It says USB streaming but the damn thing won't work on my Dell, even after I load the drivers and everything. Looks like I'll have to get a clip with just my digital camera in MPEG mode. The thing sounds awesome, turkey sound with a loud whoosh after that, can't imagine the sound with more than stock boost and an intake/exhaust. I've still experienced a few times with stalling though, all with a high rpm rev to idle. I talked to Tom at Forge and he said I could take apart the BOV and see what color spring is inside, and maybe that could be the issue, but as long as I either hit the throttle a bit on the way down the RPM range or just don't drive like an animal all over the place the occasional stall isn't going to bother me. Any other questions just post em here, I check this board like 8 times a day. Oh yeah, hopefully I'll get some sort of clip up here tomarrow, I do apologize.

so the forge bov is a direct replacement of where the stock BVP? I know that there is little bit of stalling issue, but just want to know about the comperssor surge. Will the compessor surge problem still going to be an issue for this BOV?? Because I want to get a FMIC kit, but I don't want to put a BOV/BVP set on my hardpipe, coz then If I need to take the car back for warrenty I can't take the BOV out. Which they will gonna void my warrenty if they see that I have BOV in my car. I want to know is there a compresser surge issue that the air will flow back to the Turbo, and mess up my Turbo for this BOV kit??

Sorry for dropping the ball on the clips, honestly I've done all I can do, I'm gonna try someone else's computer tomarrow. Hard to coordinate with work and school. All I can say is that it is a very nice product, great sound, easy install, and I actually haven't stalled in the past day or so. It does dip down do almost stalling after hard accel to idle but maybe my car is getting used to it or something. If I ever get the clips up I will post in this thread as soon as I get them. Sorry again.

Mike

What about the BPV? Are the still developing a BPV for us in addition to the BOV? OR should we order one from their site?

Sorry about the sound clip. Its hard so we just might end up taking a digital camera and try that. From what I heard on cory's car is that it sounds like the turkey followed by a whoosh. Cory and Andre didnt have any stalling problems. Cory said he only stalled when shifting into neautral from a high RPM. I dont think scott mentioned about any stalling problems either...maybe they will post to clear it up.

MSP HK: Yes its a direct replacement that works with stock piping. Dont know about compressor surge since the "turkeyy" is still audible. i dont think it does anything diffrent then a stock car, except vent some air out. The only thing you have to worry about is taking off the stock BPV becareful not to break the flange on the cheep plastic piping OEM piping. Scott had to gheto rig his with some epoxy and clamps.

jhotrod: The Forge BPV works with our stock car. Its on there webiste now. You should call up and ask if your interested. I know Ryan prototyped it awhile ago without any problems.

Under race conditions I haven't really pushed my car so I'm not sure. 03speed went to a track event with his on and don't believe he had any problems.
