I finally got my Black Mica MS3 GT last night after waiting what seemed like an eternity.

Here is my .02 and review o fthis amazing piece of machinery.

I started out with a cruise through the city. Handling was nice and smooth even on some quiter rough streets. I was skeptical of the choice for 18" wheels, but it obviously it doesn't make for any rougher ride than 17" wheels. The torque steer was a bit of a new experience for me, I have never had a car that produces more than about 150hp or torque, but it is VERY manageable and you hardly notice after driving the car for a while. I proceeded to the interstate. The on-ramp was two lane and I easily overtook all vehicles in the other lane, only to look down and see that I was aproaching 100mph! It didn't even feel like I was going that fast. It handled the curve of the ramp like nothing I have ever driven. I played cat and mouse for a while on the interstate, turned around and did some high speed lane changes and maneuvering without any issue.

The interior is great. It deos not give the impression of being cheap like others have implied. The seats are comfortable. Everything seems to be well designed. The Bose is a loud, clear system that is just what I will enjoy. Those of you looking for thumpin' bass, the Bose is not for you.

This car is like a surgeon's knife - it will do what you want, when you want - with extreme precision.

I debated for a long time. To mod or not to mod - that was the question. I have decided that I do not want to mod this car except for maybe some window tint. I think that I may have 'outgrown' the modding stage of my life, but still appreciate the desire to mod.

Maybe eventually I will post pics, if I get time. My next two months are booked solid at work. In the mean time, check out Jay's pics. He has a Balck Mica Gt too and mine looks the same.

very cool man, glad you finally got it! I agree with ur review almost 100% (except the part about the modding (glare) )

I let my dad drive mine over the weekend and we were passing a combine (large tractor-looking thing that eats up corn fields) over the double yellow, he shifted from 2nd to 3rd at basicly redline and the car jumped to the right, almost hitting the combine. Needless to say he wasnt prepared for the torque steer. But once you know that its there, its easy to anticipate and control.

Also, its amazing how 100 mph sneaks up on you like that, isnt it? I tend to shift via engine noise and feel rather than the tach, so i dont always pay attention to speed, but damn, it gets up there in a hurry

Did you feel the ECU kick in in the first two gears? In other reviews I've read, the power delivery is perfect for the first 2 gears. Just the right amount of power for the front wheels to not slip when launching. As for the torque steer, I think you'll feel it when the car is pushed harder and also the front heavy FWD. But the MS3 should easily be the fastest and best handling FWD on the market right now, with a good interior+styling! so no SRT4!! hahaha!

How does the car feel over bumps? because the mazda3 already has a firm suspension.

I haven't noticed the torque limiting in first or second. Ther is still plenty of power in those gears. I don't plan to push it much harder than I already have because I like keeping my money instead of giving it to local law enforcement. :)

It feels pretty good over bumps. It is noticeable when you hit a larger bump or railroad track, but you have that with any car. I can't really compare it to anyhting except that it is much better than going over the same bumpy terrain with my old '97 Ranger. Overall I think that it handles a majority of bumps and road irregularities very well.

This car has a lot more to give than I will probably ever ask out of it.

Welcome to the family. Please post pics when you get from under the steering wheel.(ughdance)

Sweet, sounds like a lot of people are enjoying the car. Great first impressions :)

I am happy to report that city mileage is about 22mpg with pushing the car a little harder than I would normally drive. I will report on highway mileage aftrer my trip this weekend.
