Finally Got Boost!

It took me till 10pm last night to finish the install and I didn't stop driving till 2 in the morning. All I have to say is Holy Sh*t. Plan on driving all evening tonight!

Running 6psi I have a autotranny and want to take it slow don't want to blow the tranny up, still getting used to the sound and feel of it all, never had a turbo before so first time the blow off blew scared the sh*t out of me.

Installation?

Can you give any brief details on the installation:

Anything to look our for and/or problems?

Was it basically just a bolt in and turn the key?

I was just about to search for "Turbo Install" when I saw your post...so...I decided to ask!

SpookyP5, the installation was pretty straight foward, all the intercooler pipes are pre bent and cut. It was pretty much conect part A to part B and so on. The hardest part probably was getting the oil pan off and the tap for the return line. The piggyback was easy to install just hard to get to the ecu wire harness. If you are going to attempt a install yourself you should have good knowledge on working on cars. I have already done work on my engine (camshafts) plus had a couple of cars that I built up for power and speed so not new to aftermarket accessories. If you are interested you should give Nick at Modern Performance he is great to talk to and puts out a nice kit.

Thanks, I have not had that much experience with cars so I don't know if a turbo is in the cards....Probably will keep my mods modest at this point...unless I can find a local shop I can trust in Nor.Cal.

I am wondering the cost as well. SOunds good and exactly how I want to approch my turbo. Did you find that it shifted harded with the turbo and the Auto??? TTY

I paid $3730 for mine and as far a shifting goes it is pretty smooth I am running the IHI turbo and about at 2500 I am into boost and having a nice even powerband I am also only running 6psi which for me is enough for now (just wanted some more kick) but the funny thing is it is shifting a little smoother since I no longer put it to the floor and make it shift at redline. It now is shifting earlier and smoother.
