Fender rolling party anyone?

Josh, maybe you can take a look at Evan's car and let me know what you think. I definitely would like to get your input on it since you do car body for a living.

Just make sure you have a heat gun, as it be as hot as the summer temps. This helps keep the paint from cracking/ chipping.

Now you got me all nervous about it.

Haha....my bad!

Like Ivan said, just take your time...hell, take MORE time than you need to get it where you want, and you'll be fine. These tools wouldn't exist if it weren't for DIY'ers. Otherwise, everyone would just pay a ton of money to have a body shop do it. lol

I can if you want, but in the end, your opinion is the only one that matters. As long as you're happy with the outcome, then I'm happy for ya!

Another thing I want to do i make sure the area is extremely clean before i start. The "V" or "U" that is created when you roll the fender can just be a pocket for crap to collect in and could cause rust down the line. I plan on cleaning the area thoroughly before starting, and spraying the inside of it really well with undercoating.

I have one that goes up to 1200 degrees F i can bring over. Hot enough to burn the paint right off if you're not careful! hahaha

I like the way that sounds!

I wanted to see if you could point out obvious areas of potential rust or cracking down the line. Maybe I'm just over-thinking this lol

Lemme check with my sources... You may not need to rent one.

But it's effing cold outside.

I'm in for standing around and watching. As long as that Josh guy isn't there. He's a party pooper.

I'm still pumped to do it. I know Evan numero dos took forever but was well worth the time. I understand all the worries, but at the same time, all we are doing is folding the lip flat... I'm not going to bu "pulling" the fender or anything crazy like that.

Just going from:

L----------------------------------->V

LOL, kind of ridiculous, but hopefull my picture gets the point across :)

I rolled mine last time too and they turned out great. Of course Evan #2 helped me, but I had no problem with the paint cracking or it flaring out the body likes on the finders. Just like everything else, you have to take your time and do it right to get a good result. I think I was done rolling mine by the time you got there Josh.

I can bring the undercoating if anyone needs it.

@josue... Tryin to do the exchange in the gauges and s*** during this?

I'll come, but you might want to get a head count and see if there's enough time for everybody to do theirs. I don't need to roll mine but I might if there's time

Hopefully you won't have the same problem you had with the 3 at the last rolling event. I don't remember what all you had done to your MSM yet.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe we could get a couple rollers or do a weekend meet. I guess it all depends on how many people want to roll their fenders.

Depending on when it is I might come out and bs and and lend a hand if heeded.

I would like to get mine done, have no issue pitching in money for use of roller or buying beer. :)
