Faulty BPV? Lack of power.

clearly you should bring the car into a shop that knows something about cars before you kill yourself and someone else trying to merge on the highway.

im all for being a cheapass, but putting innocent peoples lives at stake cause your too chate to drop off your car at a shop to get fixed just doesnt make sense.

I did bring it to the shop jeff, they didn't find out anything wrong with it.

I explained it to them clearly everything I did and everything that has been going on with the car but they keep telling me to drive it and when the engine check light comes on to bring it back.

I tried everything in my will and that's why im coming here to see if experts who own the same car can guide me, so when I goto the mechanic I can show them where the problem is coming from.

Sadly everytime I goto a mechanic they say the car is fine, they rev it and it makes me look bad.

Then when I drive off I notice problems after getting close to home.

well simple enough then just build a boost pressure tester with a silicone coupling, a plastic 2.5" end cap and a threaded pressure fitted that hooks up to a air compressor. remove your intake and install it where the stock intake would bolt on the turbo. google for a how to. dont pressurize more than 15psi. it should slowly leak out. spray vigourously with soapy water all over your couplings, pipes, intercooler, manifold, egr/iac valves/ throttle body, injector o-rings, intake manifold gasket etc. make sure you jack up the car and look from underneith too

if you pipes/intake manifold/injectors/throttlebody/egr/iac are not leaking, try swapping out a MAF with another protege to see if maybe your MAF is damaged. also unhook your pcv and give it a shake to make sure you hear it moving.

also make sure you didnt put your maf or bpv in backwards.

Just curious but I tried to do a boost leak test and when I did I could hear/feel air comming out of the oil cap. What foes that mean? And if I do the test with the cap on, air leaks from my valve cover gasket (it is bad already, I didn't pop the seal)

I didn't think a leak test would be difficult to interpet... All I can think of is that air is leaking past the valves that are open
