Neebie, why is the factory Kenwood in my MSP blowin the sub so easily.do i need to get a better amp or better sub, whats the deal. Need help from the AUDIO GODS...
Basically it's because the sub is a piece of crap. It's damn near impossible to set the NF too high (for one thing)...it's actually setting the bass boost and and those other faux EQ settings too high that'll cause the distortion. The NF level is just a volume knob. Now...if the gains on the amp are set too high and the LPF is off, then you've gotta fix those, but your bass eq and bass bost shuld both be set to zero. The NF can then be used as a volume control for the sub. If it's still blowing (mind you this sub is underpowered because of how Kenwood made the set-up) then it's because the sub is a POS...those are my independant findings.
They also have a tinsel lead failure problem which is a contruction issue but mostly its improper setup and people thinking an 8" should be loud and they have no ear for distortion.
