I started noticing a raw fuel smell the other day. after looking around a bit I found it was coming from the evap system in the rear of the car on the driver side. Then this morning when I was getting gas the pump stopped at like a quarter tank.
I figure the charcoal canister and who knows what other components are probably plugged, filled with fuel, and generally worn out. (256k on the car)
I fixed the EVAP system on my 88 RX-7 and by the time I was done it had cost my around $350.00. So I would prefer to just take all of that stuff off, cap the intake manifold ports, and put two breather filters on the tank.
Normally I wouldn't even hesitate but when I deleted the EVAP to my WRX I had to program out the trouble codes. I dont think thats an option on the protege.
