Engine Trouble..

i totally agree derrick....the fs-ze is not even to half its capabilities with the us ecu...no matter what car it came from...mp3...p5...u need a stand alone as of right now for this car...it really sucks too....but hey

As a matter of fact, I hate to call out linuxracer like this, but it's funny, ask him who won in a race between him and Jag61180. And Jag had a big speaker box with speakers in the trunk. I won't tell you who won, but if I were you guys, I'd save my money for a turbo.

I won. He pulled on me at first (more torque), even with the speaker box, but when I hit top-end, it was me all the way.

Well, I got my car back, and have added some fuel additive to take care of carbon deposits on that may be on the pistons. Since I added it, it seem to be getting a little better. My brakes no longer rub either!

Oh, I almost forgot... I really need to get all the specs for that FS-ZE engine. I need the clearance info for the valves, shims and other internals.

Hmmm. While I didn't read "Mom's Engine Building and Maintenance Handbook" I'm aware that improper tuning and engine management could cause this to happen and be exaggerated by the additional stress of racing with that engine.

Hey Linux,

you seem to done a lot to your car. How about some pictures...eh ??
And where did you get your FS-ZE engine ?? How much was it ??
And one important question......What is a FS-ZE engine ?? I am a car dummy and would like to learn more....

My engine is making more of a clattering sound, but it definitely sounds like knocking. The additive made it a little better so far, but not by much.

I know this thread is almost a year old, but it turned out to be the rod bearings spun. They were replaced before the turbo went on my car.

I know this is from a while ago, but can I ask if you remember the name of the fuel additive (mentioned earlier in thread) you used. I had a bad ignition coil, which fouled the plugs, etc... I can only imagine that there might still be some more carbon deposits left on the pistons. Thanks.
