Engine light? FPR noise?

Hmmmm... I wonder where I could find these "nutts" you talk aobut, hehe....

I know where you can find "Deez Nutz," but those are for the ladies.;) On a serious tip, the nuts can be obtained at a good mom and pop hardware store. I think an ACE Hardware store would have them.

I think I'll go get some of those when we take off the manifold and put it all back together again. Good news is that my hands are starting to heal up after being torn to shreads by the metal plate holding the ECU. :p

Hey Linux... There's someone posting with their title as "Fastest MP3 in Texas" he's a regular on here but I don't remember his name. I think you might challenge that statement now. What do you think?

He'll be in here shortly to comment on what you said I suspect. I may have the FUNEST MP3 in Texas!:D

The loss of boost cannot be related to the ecu change. You've blown a hose off somewhere. I've never heard pinging described as a "gurgle" nor has it ever sounded remotely like a gurge to me, and trust me, I am so attuned to ping after years of turbo cars that I can hear it from most of the cars leaving lights around me. We need someone that has an MP3 to see if the solenoid is actually in place for the VTCS and if it is plugged in. The VTCS controls a set of butterflys right at the end of the intake runners that have a little eyebrow cut in the top of them. When the car is cold, air has to pass through the eyebrows, making it "tumble" and also increasing its velocity, both of which are good for emissions. I don't have an MP3 here to confirm whether the parts are actually on the car.

The gurgle I heard was actually two leaks. One out of the downpipe connection and one from the exhaust manifold. I had several loose bolts... Looks like I checked all my hoses and pipes but overlooked two of the largest components. But all is well now.

Shaweet!

I can't wait to run a Sentra SE-R. There is this guy driving around here with one who I tried to make freinly convo with, but he had a superiority complex because he drove the Spec-V. I can't wait to see that guy again!(laugh)

I have a small oil leak that needs to be fixed, but is had to reach. It is comming from the Oil return line from the turbo side. I tried to tighten the clamp on that side, and when it got tight, it loosened again! I hope if I just replace the clamp with a better on, it will solve the problem. It is a pain in the ass to reach! Oh yeah, that CEL, it's back! I suspect it has to do with oil film coating the Air Temp sensor, cause it felt a little grimey.

I'll be coming back over to play shortly, Bill. We can double check it then...

Linux,
If the clamp went from tight to loose, it's stripped, time for a new one. 1st, all clamps were shipped late last week, you should have by the end of this week. Chris, we'll see you soon.

As I posted earlier in another thread, all the voltage clamps were shipped on Thursday, UPS ground. That means it should be delivered in NH on Friday.

That's what I figured! The hose clamp was stripped! I already recieved my Voltage Clamp Fuel Fix on Friday, and installed it on Saturday. No ping!

Linux,
Did you have ping before the clamp installation?

Not that I noticed. I have 93 Octane around here. I always floored it into boost before the clamp. I know that it wouldn't make much difference though below a certain RPM!

I have ping even with the P5 ECU. It's hard to obtain but it is there. I will let you know if it is still present even after the clamp is installed.

We actually hadn't had any audible ping with our P5 either, but the air/fuel ratios were frightening.

Keith

I take it your P5 has no knock at all with 91 octane fuel then?

And if memory serves that was barely at all and with 91 octane on top of the world?

STrange that all these people ping at sea level even with beter octane, although I have been ok thus far with 93 octane.

It got to be around 20 degrees last night and I definitly felt more power from the turbo with the CAI setup I have, it was damn fun.
