Engine balancing

I tried to search on this but really found nothing. I eventually want to add a turbo to my Pro but by then I'll probably have almost 100k miles(it's a 2001 and has 30k original by me). I know that most of you say I'm dumb for thinking about this and to buy a new car by then but this is my very first car that I actually bought myself(I'm 20), and I don't plan on selling it. But I am going to get forged pistons and rods, the AEM ecu, tranny stuff and beeffier axels. I am basically going to rebuild my engine at this time but I want to balance it also. Does anyone know how much it would cost to do this? I am aware this is gonna be mucho diniero for the whole thing. I haven't priced it yet but if any of you wanna do it for me (wink) , I won't hold it against you.

depends on if you include labor to take apart the engine or not,

if you have all the parts out it may be a few hundred depending. if you include labor it will be more then $1000 easy

thanks, anybody know a more certain figure. not taking anything away from you zmepro, just seeing if anybody has a better known figure. thanks

i dont know how much balancing costs, but pay as much as you can afford. the closer it is to perfectly balanced, the longer the engine will last and the less problems you may encounter

at the bare minimum an overhaul (inspection and replacing wear items like gaskets)

this can easily get pricey.

wagner motorsports now offers built short blocks, this can slice your labor charges in half, but remember that you have a core charge, and the price pretty much includes labor anyway, but done professionally if you dont have the confidence to do it yourself.

Has it been confirmed that Wagner balance their short blocks? I didn't see any reply to that effect in the other thread.

YES we balance and blueprint every short block that goes out.
This is a joint project between our two companys.

cool, hey perf, I know you're charging 2k for the shortblock but if I were to send you my shortblock with forged internals, how much would it be to balance and rebuild and all? I live close enough to drop and pickup and maybe help a little if you let me and also learn some more about our engines.

what would the builder need to balance the engine, just the crank, pistons, and rods, or is the block needed as well? Just wondering, so maybe I can just get it done cheaply before I install all the parts.
