Well basically when I installed my header I bent the EGR tube too much, now its out of commission, and I wanted to know if I will do harm to my car by driving it w\out it?

I was thinking on disconnecting the EGR tubing from the headers, plug the EGR fitting on the headers and install a filter at the diconnected end so when the valve wants to suck exhaust it will simply suck hot underhood air instead.
Any idea if it would work? I think it will work, since i went about 300 miles before I realise the fitting on the headers craped out on me and the car ran fine with no cell, except for the big exhaust leak.
