Which Ebay CAI have people been buying? I bought one from Jax_racing and it was missing the couplings for the MAP sensor. So I'm sending it back to hopefully get my money back. I was trying to be cheap and hoping to get something almost as good as AEM or injen. It didn't come with instructions either. I've seen the how to threads and am pretty mechanical so I figured what the heck, I can put this on. The old one was off like a prom dress and then nothing lined up right so I put back together. Enough venting, I'll just get the real thing.

I got a liveonspeed CAI from Ebay. It's sounds great and a little gain in hp. They're selling a new version one in red color, and it's so much cheaper than b4.

And it's real easy to install, don't worry. U'll know what to do when u're installing it. Welcome to the Ebay world~~(evil)

never get the one with gray couplers. that thing is complete trash. hell, the piping is SMALLER than stock.

I got the one with the gray couplers and its actually really nice. the only downfall to it is the guy forgot 1 of the couplers and some pipe clamps but that was a 10 dollar fix. i have no complaints plenty of gain and a great sound. ive actually had a couple of people ask me what kind of turbo i have cause they can hear the intake sucking air into my engine and it almost sounds like a stock bov

ill hook you up with a ractive intake for 45.99 plus shipping. it comes with black couplers, brackets, the filter, and intructions.

they gray one always is missing couplers, everyone who buys one is missing one. they didnt forget, thats how the kit is designed. also the elbow to the TB is too long and rubs the BMC.

Is the ractive a Cold air intake? If so please send more info and if jax racing gives me the credit I'll talk to you about it.

a little bit. the difference between the sri and the cai arent that big though. especially among the cheaper intakes

with either a CAI or SRI... your major notice of any gains will be audible.
I personally noticed a slight lag in initial take off with every intake I ever had (on different cars) but there is generally higher rpm's before the car backs off on you.

With increased direct airflow, theory suggests you should get better gas mileage.
But expect to lose mpg during your first month or so, while you enjoy the sound of the intake a little.

PS... i noticed for the first 2 days I had my intake on, that my idle would drop periodically below 700 causing the car to feel like it was going to stall, before it instantly recouped. I belive this was from teh ECU adjusting to the new breathing system... as it is steady as before and hasnt done this since. (been on a week now)

That is why you don't buy stuff like that off ebay. Nothing ever fits properly when you do. I'm selling my AEM intake in great condition if anyone is interested.

elias has the Ractive intake. my ractive intake fits fine. i havent messed with the ebay ones though

The liveonspeed intake is the exact same as the Injen, I had both, and the piping size, bend diameter and hookups are in the same spots. It fits as if its the Injen intake, minus the different filter and the lack of CARB sticker.

I bought the Blue Liveonspeed intake and it arrived excellently packaged and was quickly shipped. Highly recommended. Keep in mind this is a full CAI whereas the Ractive is a short ram.

hey 03P5, i looked on ebay and i couldn't find the one you're talking about. i'm very interested, especially if there's a red one now. what should i be putting into the search?

yes the ractive peices fit all together without error!
I have gotten several compliments on it since being installed less than a week ago.
The sound is great.
