Terry - Thanks. Haven't played with timing yet. Once I get the fuel maps smoothed out I'll add in the timing I had set on the haltech. Just wired the wideband back in so tomorrow should prove better results.

msp4you - Please keep this on topic. However you may be able to use the 1k-ohm resistor with the S-AFC, it's worth a shot. Use PM's to further discuss this with me.

are our ecu located by the kick panel? also what is that thick white cable? and how did you run ur wiring??? thanks turboge keep them coming

ECU is in passenger side floorwell

Autobox - Yes the ECU is under the kick panel. The thick white cable is from my wideband sensor. The e-manage wiring runs underneath the carpet, up into the center console area and over to the ECU exiting the backside of the console near the bottom.

More pictures of things in action to come. I've got the wideband wired into the Profec and displaying realtime A/F as I drive. I was able to do some tuning this morning on the way in. The biggest area for improvement is between 3500-5000rpm, this is where the CLOSED->OPEN loop transition begins to occur. A/F's were going from 14.7:1 to 10:1 in a second and causing a huge hump in the powerband.

It's not very simple to get the car to go into OPEN loop when it is wanting to stay in CLOSED loop, then when it does hit OPEN loop, keeping it from going overly rich is the killer. I've managed to bring the A/F's up to about 12.3-12.6 in the 3500-5000 range, but its still roughly 11.2-11.5:1 in the 2500-3500 range. Partial throttle is still rich but working on all that as the road clears, I've got about 300 miles to drive on saturday so some decent progress should be made.

Arunto - Older stock did not come with the resistor and box. All new units ship with it, along with an addendum.

answers my question....thanks :)

Update: 12-18-03

After roughly 3 hours of tuning on the street/freeway I have this to show you:

There is still a bit of work to be done, but this is a 2nd gear run at 8psi. I've got to smooth that transition out from closed loop to open loop, and figure out where that little hump is up top. Just wait till this weekend when I have that long drive :)

yeh thats nice and steady threw most of the useful powerbadn.....odd how the hump peaks at redline?!?!?
