i've installed the greddy e-manage on my mazdaspeed and my mechanic has tuned the fuel for 10 psi with a t3/t4. fuel mixture is perfect, but i haven't been able to use the use the ignition timing feature on the e-manage because the coils keep on melting everytime we test drive the car with timing adjustments. we've melted 2 coils so far, both times have been from trying to tune fuel & timing for 15 psi. so i'm not exactly sure if it's because we're going from 10 - 15 psi ,or if there's some kind of setting on the stock computer that rejects any changes made to ignition timing.
i'm stuck at 10 psi (only fuel has been adjusted, no change in timing), and i don't want to try and go beyond this point and blow another coil until i can figure out why this keeps happening. has anyone experienced this problem, or can maybe give some theoretical insight as to why this would haapen?
i've checked out a couple of dragster proteges and i noticed that they use 4 individual coils. would this make a difference on my car?
thanks.
