dynamat reviews?

I'm sure a lot of users here have dynamat in their cars...

I'm thinking about getting some for my doors, because my new components sound blown (they're most definitely not) because of all the rattling and vibration that is going on in the door.

Anyone used it? Reviews? Any buyer beware? Any better products out there?

i have dynamat extreme and its been wonderfull -- But had i did my homework i would have used what wake has used --- i did get a good deal on the extreme but not as good as the raammat

I put dynamat extreme in my front doors about a month ago (the full door, not just by the speakers), and I absolutely love it. Do it, and then knock on a door both with and without the dynamat - HUGE difference.

I'm probably going to dynamat the hatch floor (to reduce exhaust drone for long distance trips), and maybe the floor of the car, depending on how things go with the hatch.

is there any similir products like Dynomat? Cause it so expensive, $50 cn at Future Shop for one door. Is there any kinda foam or something?

if you want to reduce the exhaust drone, check out ensolite from raamaudio. dynamat isn't a great sound dampener, but it is a great sheet metal dampener.

Where can you pick this up, specifically here in Canada (if you know)? How does it compare in price to the dynamat extreme?

ensolite is nothing like dynamat extreme. their raammat bxt is like dynamat extreme, though. ensolite is an acoustical insulation, so it is designed to block noise, not stop rattles (like bxt or dynamat extreme).

That was very, very useful and exactly what I was looking for and couldn't find for the life of me! I may have to re evaluate my decision. That RAMMAT is really cheap and of good quality...

on a side note* to everyone that wants to do this -- make sure you know what end result you are looking for is --- You might as well to it all at once since you'll have all the interior out ----

DONT be like me --- i didnt do all my homework and now to achieve my end result -- i have to add to what i have all ready done ----

(drinks)

Go for B-Quiet. Similar to Dynamat but 1/2 of the price. And they are in Canada as well, so no Custom duties ;)
I've insulated the trunk and it's great!

I've damped all four doors with secondskin audio's damplifier. I did two/ three layers and it made a big difference. The resonance in the doors is greatly reduced. I pulled all the interior trim in the hatch and did one layer on the wheelwells. I bought 1/4" neoprene foam rubber from the local rubber products warehouse and lined the inside of the plastic wheelhouses with one layer of that. I need to buy more materials, but the next step is going to be to use trim adhesive to stick neoprene to the back sides of the door trim panels. I've got about ten square ft. of damplifier left, so I'm going to do the trunk floor and spare tire well next. I did three layers in the trunk floor over the muffler and laid a double layer of neoprene mat in there, and it hasn't made any noticeable difference in the drone from the exhaust system. I also damped the area under the back seat, especially in the middle where the tank sender is. I concentrated most of sound deadening efforts on the areas of sheet metal that make the most resonant, drum-like noises when tapped.

its hard to drown out loud exhaust drone -- good luck

Seach 'jute' or 'synthetic carpet padding' in this section. You will find plenty of info on it. I have 120 ftsq of it in my car and it works wonders.

Also look at Second Skin OverKill wich is a closed cell foam product which works like Ensolite.
