Alright, so today I was removing my CAI and in order to do so i had to remove my negative terminal to my battery. After the job was complete I re-attached the negative terminal and turned on my car. In my car is a Pioneer 7" flat screen, with a Myron & Davis DVD player. Both of the systems had power, and the TV played radio and did its job, however the DVD player did not. It had power; however it was like the tv wasn't even reading the disc in the DVD player. Also, the remote was not working for the DVD player. To better explain the problem, it seemed as if the DVD player was not even connected; however I recently had it installed so it should be in good running order. Can annyone tell me what the problem may be here please, it will be a huge help!

Thanks, Ben

My alpine dvd froze once... unhook the battery again and hold down a button on the dvd player for like 30 seconds then hook the batter back up. If it was frozen, that would have drained the power and reset it. If not, check the wires and fuses.

I tried that and it didnt work, so I began to try every button on my remote and i came upon the 'function' button. In this menu setting the AUX input was switched to off...I simply switched to on and its all good...yeah I know, what a pethetic problem, but i bought my dvd player used so there are no instructions with it, lol. Thanks for your help though!

wanna talk about Pathetic problems with aux inputs??? I had a Jensen TV/DVD player installed in my car at "Gasp" Circuit City as per my insurance company. This unit was basically just a, "Yeah I have a TV/DVD and a crazy head-unit cuz I can" piece to supplement my XXV-05 hu. The guy got thing completely installed and then couldn't get it to produce sound through the HU as that is the main piece of my system so he goes ahead and without calling to ask me what may be the problem, un-installs it and tells me he couldn't get it to work. I ask him, did you turn on the auxillary input on the deck? Because that is automatticaly set to off. Of course he didn't and I had to waste another day sitting there so this s*** head to put the thing horribly for me to take it out and re-install properly.

Hahahahaha that's hilarious. He should know about the auxillary setting seeing how thats what he does for a living!

One thing you have to know about the car audio industry is that to get MECP certified is very, very, very easy...If you're ever going to do anything above the level of a deck, speakers, subs and a couple of amps, make sure you go to a shop that has quality installers. Look at there portfolio of vehicles done and observe their work. I worked in a very well known shop in NY for a while before starting my own company a while back. Lets just say the master installers did maybe 1 job a day while all the kids were putting in the basic stuff. Anything important was definitely done by the best people in the shop and at least one of the younger guys helping out to better learn the trade. That is how most quality shops work. At a circuit city or Best Buy, Tweeter etc. you're lucky if you get an installer that can wire an amp correctly. Think about it like this, if they were good they'd be working for a good shop doing interesting installs rather than just doing installs using wiring harnesses and dash kits. I only went to CC because I had to close a claim with my insurance company as my car was broken into and my existing system was stolen. That was who they use to supply and install the parts for their car audio division and they had to perform the install in order for me to get it over with. I ended up basically gutting all their work and starting over myself.
