Yep your 2017 CX-5 has this US/Canadian special unfortunately. For some very strange reason Mazda North American Operations and Mazda Canada have decided to pair your headlights with LED Signature accent strips to serve as DRLs whereas 2017 CX-5's sold in other regions don't have such DRL setup with headlights on all the time. In fact we've never seen any vehicles with LED accent strips also using headlights to serve as DRLs in recent years! As the result we've seen new 2017 CX-5 owners keep asking the same question like this 32-page、469-post long thread:Hello again!
Does this vehicle have DRL's? I have messed with the lighting, and my headlights keep turning on when I am driving. Should my light settings be high or low?
It's annoying, and I'm not sure how to just run DRL's.
Take your car to the dealership and have them turn it off... Its what I did.

Sad that this needs to be done though![]()
Or how it is here.Ya, if only DRL function was an led strip like on the ND mx5 it would be so much simple

They sound like Samsung Australia. You buy an overseas Samsung phone and try and get Samsung Australia to look at it let alone fix it, they will have nothing to do with it.Just jealous. I could try and see what the Germans (MazdaDe)can do to our CX-5, but I have a hard time even getting them to do a dang oil change.

Don't worry. The procedure you'd just done only set the vehicle DRL function to off. You only lost DRL function but nothing else. Auto headlight function still works. It's just a work around. I think it defeats the auto features in doing so
