Dodge srt-4 sales

There are idiots at any job, its just that sales positions are out in public view. For those of you who work in office settings, tell me you DONT have a dumbass working there that has defied all hiring logic. I will then call :bs:.

Absolutely, I work with dumb asses all day long. (silly)(dunno)(bang)

wow....

you guys are making me feel like s*** (peep)

Im a salesperson and I know my products and other manufacturer's products AND I would consider myself an enthusiast.

Please dont blanket all salesmen as retards, the reality is - If they dont care enough to know their product, they wont know enough to stay a salesperson.

It has nothing to do with education, it comes down to work ethic. The other issue is that every auto group functions under a different set of guidelines making it entirely 100% possible to walk into a dealership of "clerks" who dont know the first thing about the product past the window sticker. It aslo makes it very easy to walk into a dealership that knows 150% of what they should.

I agree with you to an extent. BUT...if someone is going to take a job where their knowledge is going to be out in the open they should at least of some kind of pride about knowing what they're talking about. I know at my dealership we had a very "smart-ass" customer who in one sense I can;t blame. A salesman told him basically a bunch of bologna about a cobalt SS and how it had almost 300hp, would do the 1/4 mile in 14 flat, etc, etc...So he bought it, actually got all this stuff the salesman told him in writing, went to the track, got it dynoed, etc, etc...Obviously it didnt live up to anything that had been told/written to him. Of course the dumbass salesman thought it was wierd or a joke when the guy did it...But when he came back two months and 6,000 miles later wanting his money back, no one was laughing. And guess what...HE GOT HIS MONEY BACK. I dont know what happened to that salesman, but no one ever saw him again, thats for sure.

Sorry man.... I agree it has nothing to do with education and/or smarts.. we all have dumbass coworkers...I feel for you as you happen to work in an industry rife with auto groups whose sole purpose is to screw walkin customers... obviously if you can say work ethic you dont fit the stereotype... we shouldnt generalize I know but its damn hard not to when the majority of car dealerships out there would rob you blind if they could....

yea, about two years ago went to a nissan dealership, wasn't looking to buy something that day but just looking for a truck, something used i good work in. they had a 98 frontier that was WAY over priced and the salesman wouldn't give me the light of day so i said screw it, went driving around and ended up at a dodge dealership, and purchased an almost new 05 4x4 RAM. to this day i regret not going back to the nissan place and doing a "pretty woman" act... you messed up BIG time... but i try to hold myself to higher standards. i can almost bet that anyone on this forum and can go to almost any dealership and know MORE about the cars than the salesman themselves.

More times than not I know more than the salesman does. Sometimes that's because I've read up, and sometimes it's because he's dumb.

I've never gone to a car lot needing to be sold on something. If I am there and not eye humping stuff, I'm there to buy. I also know what I want. A car is usually the 2nd most expensive thing you'll ever buy. If you aren't all smarted up on what you are looking to buy, leaning on the knowledge of someone who wants to sell you something can be bad ju ju.

Yeah, some salesmen are good, some are bad.

One tried to sell me both a vtec VW and told me that the 200sx in his lot was quicker because it was RWD.

When asked to show the rear diff, he balked...lol.

I don't enjoy dealing with car sales folks, doctors, and lawyers.

Having said that, Carlos at Brown's Fairfax Mazda was awesome.
He has 10+ years of track experience (cars & bikes), and my jaw dropped when he took me along for a ride in an MX-5 on the back roads nearby the dealership. Skills and knowledge aside, it was just pleasant to talk to this guy about cars (and video games). *^_^*
I don't know if I can buy another non-luxury brand (spoiled by the customer service), but when I do I'd definitely buy my next Mazda from him.

Forgive me for threadjacking. >_<

Hahaha. That is a good story. Way to get his money back.

i've worked with 2 different mazda dealerships....1 being a huge organization....and the one i'm at now....i tell ya what...the 2 guys i work with and the other woman i work with and myself....we know our s*** about mazda's.....Mostly hector, mary, and myself all have personal mazdas....ranging from a 92 miata,-to my speed3. i have never walked into a dealership where the other sales people were as knowledgeable as the guys i work with here....it's amazing.....at my old dealership...wow, talk about bullshitting their way through, they knew nothing about the type of vehicle they were selling.

When I bought my ms3 I had read 2-3 articles on it on-line, that's about it. Took me less than an hour of time to find and read.
That I knew more about the car than the guy who feeds himself by selling it spoke poorly of him and dealership. But, I will never use the dealership for anything other than warranty work, and I knew what I was willing/expecting to pay, so it did not really change my mind on anything.

I run my own business and cannot imagine hiring someone who wouldn't put in that little effort.
