Do your sunglasses fit, and close?

My Vaurnet Sunglasses will not fit in the 2009 CX9 SG-Holder. I bought some cheaper ones that I thought were slimmer, but once closed, took me 1-2 minutes to get the door open again...not.

I have not research it yet, but what reasonable S-Glasses not only fit, but you can open & shut with no problem?

Thanks,
tstex

my parents have the cx-9

I got the miata.

sis has 01 protege

ex wife has 05 6s

had a 02 protege5

all I need is a rx-8 in the fam and I got them all

I did have an 87 rx-7, not sure if we should count that

My Sequoia I just gave up for the 09 GT, had 4-5 places for sunglasses and I could fit anything in them...I just do not want to scratch or break a good pair of s-glasses...

I didn't mean to make fun of you, I can understand the irritation, and your motivation, I just think its a really funny problem to have. My car isn't nice enough to have storage places for such things... so the sunglasses get stuck between the CD holder and the sun visor.

In all honesty I do not believe that anyone makes a pair of sunglasses that will fit in the "Sunglass Holder" that Mazda put in the CX-9

The holder is useless and will forever collect dust because it cannot carry sunglasses or any nick-nacks properly.

I figured it out. I will shrink the size of my head and order some Japanese size sunglasses, then they will fit.

The CX9 drives great though, but there are just some things you do not notice during test drives and then buy the car.

And it is NOT a funny question. lol

"Who are you guys, Gloria swanson? Our sunglasses fit just fine in the holder."

I can tell you who we are not, and that is a "pin-head". Thin faces, small heads, small sunglasses.

Quit buying the blue blockers tstex. Just kiddin. Neither my Oakleys or Gargoyles fit. I tell you the holder works great for storing those extra McDonalds napkins.

My Oakley Whiskers fit fine (perfectly i might add). and it opens and closes fine. you do have to put them in the same way everytime though (lens facing upwards when place them in the open holder).

mine don't fit but my wife's do (only if they are placed into the holder with the lenses facing up)

What does fit great are 2 chamberlain garage door opener remotes (no homelink) with the visor clips removed. Its like that compartment was designed for these :)

we bought a CX-9 for my wife and I drove it yesterday and was pissed that the sunglass holder would not open

Finally after stopping I got it open to find her sunglasses stuffed in there. I closed it and the same thing happened so we may have to find another place to keep her sunglasses.

I know this is a dumb question but does anyone make a part that will change that to one of those nifty little mirrors they have in minivans? My parents have an Odyssey and I think a mirror would be better than the "napkin/mini sunglass holder".

I think the mirror idea works perfectly when you have two screaming kids in the back. A deadly stare, even if in a mirror is sometimes enough to shut them up when they are being out of control.
