perfworks said:First off.
Back off dana. Linux was expressing a thought he had on the situation.
It's one thing to express your thoughts. It's another to insinuate that I was acting like a jerk about the thing, when in fact i was not.
Second. My wording on the phone was WRONG. YOU HAPPY? I know the difference between increasing and decreasing compression, or calculating adjusted displacement.
You're wording wasn't wrong, YOU were. Don't try to blame it on excuses. We argued about it for 5 minutes. I gave you multiple opportunities to correct yourself.
As you know i have been working about 18 hours a day. Im sorry if i didnt make clear to you about my argument on bore and stroke theory.
You DID make your argument clear. A dozen or so times. Then I said my side, and as usual, you wouldn't listen. That's my main beef here, man...
You had asked me a question at 200AM and i didnt respond to it correctly.
I didn't ask you a question...you're the one who brought it up when you mentioned changing rod length to change displacement. So obviously it was pre-mis-conceived.
I am human and do make mistakes like everyone else on this planet.
That's all fine and dandy, and that's why you have to learn to LISTEN to people and not be so condescending at times.
I was also not arguing on the phone with you.
Sure you were. It was in no way a heated argument, but we were clearly disagreeing and going back and forth with our points for awhile. I'd call that arguing.
As far as our conversation i had a slip in thought. Take it as you may but i had alot of things on my mind and didnt think that because i was quoted wrong that it would become this entire show on a public forum.
1-You didn't just have a "slip" in thought since you had plenty of time to think about it during out discussion.
2-You were obviously confident enough about it to be condescending to me about it ("oh, so now YOU'RE gonna teach ME about engine theory?", etc)
3-You weren't misquoted.
4-I told you RIGHT before we got off the phone "I think you're wrong, man, but I'll go ahead and post this on the forums so we can figure it out for sure." Your response was along the lines Of "Ok, go ahead".
When i mentioned to you in an earlier post about being in a pissing match , you do it all the time with me and others. BUT, its cool . I do it too. It wasnt meant to be aggresive towards you.
?? Gotta disagree with you here. A "pissing match", AFAIK, is a useless, pointless argument. I don't participate in pointless arguments. All the arguments that I get into w/ people (yourself included) are debates over things that have a purpose. Learning the true answer to our little debate benefited the forum members.
You like myself have that tendency to argue till we get our points across. I just differ from you in that i dont come on to this forum and make someone look like they are ignorant because i want to be right.
1-You would, and have, come on to this forum to try to prove me wrong.
2-No offense, but no one made yourself look ignorant but yourself.
3-I wouldn't have to come onto the forum to "prove you wrong" if you'd actually LISTEN to people's points and stopped being so hard headed!
If we had a conversation about something which i might have been right about and you didnt agree, i DONT come onto the mazda forum to post and say I JUST ARGUED WITh SO AND SO ABOUT SOMTHING TELL ME THAT HES WRONG
Ummm, remember our EGT placement debate?
but anyway, **** it who cares. Your still my friend. Were cool.
We will always argue like family.
Your a b**** with a big mouth.

Yeah, yeah, ya bastid...but my point here was to teach you something. We argue all the time over car stuff. If you say something that I don't THINK is true, I'll question it. I may bring up some points against it, but I won't argue w/ you since I don't know for sure.
BUT, if you say something that i KNOW is not true (case in point), i will argue with you to the death.
That being said, next time someone argues with you, and is firm on their argument, think twice before you argue back; they very well may be right. Or at least just be a little less abrasive and keep an open mind.
