Personally, I trust Mazda. If a udp was such a fast easy way to gain 8-10hp car companies would be using them to increase hp on their stock engines. Car companies do pick up technologies from the aftermarket scene, but udps have been around since the 70's and they still aren't very popular...there is a reason.
You can choose to ignore it and have fun with your car while it lasts....just as long as everyone on this board knows there is a risk involved, and the upgrade is not for everyone. People who have high output stereo systems and people who live in hot climates that constantly use a/c and stress their cars cooling system are at the greatest risk of engine failure down the road. Down the road meaning 20-50K+ miles.
