Can someone tell me the difference between Eibach's Pro-Kit springs and its Sportline springs?

from what i gathered from their website, the sportline springs are more akin to race springs whereas the pro-kit springs are like sport springs...

what is the drop on a proteg5 when using a pro-kit or a sportline? i couldn't find specific drop measurements on eibach's website (only that sportline's drop a vague 1.75" - 2.25")...

thanks!

the sport line springs are much stiffer (more like H&Rs), which will hurt ride quality in turn for better performance...They are better matched with stiff aftermarket dampeners...The Pro-kit springs are their standard street springs, which are the best springs you can buy if you are keeping the stock struts...

the Pro-kit drops like 1.4" front and 1.2" in back average on a P5..

the sport lines are more around 1.8" in front, and 1.5" in back average...

Straight from the horses mouth, Pro kit 1.8" rear 1.4" front, Same spring on the rear of the Sport line, but 1.8" front drop.

What I meant, is:

Pro Kit----------1.8" rear 1.4" front
Sport Line-------1.8" rear 1.8" front

When contacted Eibach, they said their Sport Line and Pro Kit springs where exactly the same, with the .4" drop on the front been the only difference, so if the Pro Kit fitted the Sport Line would too.

Product Front Rear Comments Part Number
SPORTLINE KIT 1.8 in 1.8 in 4.4055
ALIGNMENT KIT Front +/- 1.75 degrees of adjustment. 5.81250K
ALIGNMENT KIT Rear +/- 1.75 degrees of adjustment. 5.81250K
PRO-KIT 1.4 in 1.8 in 5540.140

Wow...1.8" on the back of a P5 would be a lot...My Tein's lowered about 1.5" measured from stock in back, and there is absolutely no fender gap...

My understanding from an Eibach email was that the sport-lines were identical to the pro-kits, except for the .4" more drop on the front...so they were 1.8" in front, back being 1.4", same as pro-kit's...the email was sort of confusing...Your info seems to be better...sorry for the misunderstanding...

Also I mixed the sport-line info with that of my Tein's in the above post...Tein's were 1.8" front, 1.5" in back...also eibach usually has exaggerated drops, meaning they sometimes claim .1 or .2" more than you actually get...so I factored that into the rear of the pro-kit's "average" drop...

ok, so now i'm confused. :) heh. 1.8" front and 1.4" rear for me please.... time to get them eibachs..

Here are some pictures of my P5 after the Eibachs.

I am lowered 2" all the way around, and could use at least another .5 inch at the back. There are some eibach prokits here in town for a P5 at a local stereo shop and on the box it has 1.4" front drop, 1.2" rear drop??? what the hells up with that??

P.S. went to nopi.com and they list their prokit for the P5 as a 1.4, 1.2 drop. no listing for the sportline, only available for the sedan.

I have had the eibachs with stock shocks for about a year now and no problems. With winter snows and the plows scraping them our roads have turned to s***. This is my second winter with them and I drive really hard in the mountain twisties when ever the roads are clear.

So the stock shocks hold up pretty well with the eibachs. Or so far they do.

I also have the pro-kit and they've been on for about a year as well with stock shocks. No problems what so ever, excellent handle and ride. I was actually advised against the sportlines simply due to the harsh ride potential and the car may have dropped a bit too low.

rednecks_r_us - Do you have stock size tires in your sig pic? I'm running 215/40/17 right now and my car really needs some lowering.

I have 205/45/16 Yokohama AVS ES100 on the stock rims.

So that's a tiny bit smaller than the stock diameter, and I'm 0.1 inch taller than stock diameter with 215/40/17. Nice, I think I'll go with those springs it looks awesome in your sig pic.

I almost wish it was a tiny bit lower in the front though. Is your trunk empty in the pics?

The Eibach site doesn't list an alignment kit for the Pro5. Is there an alignment kit for the Pro-Kit for the Pro5 and is it necessary?
