Dh a/f accuracy.

im begginning to question the accuracy of this thing. the 1/4 mile feature on it et wise seems to be spot on as im always in the high 12s low 13s and thats what i ran at the track. Tonight i've actually hit my best of a 12.72 @ 116.2. neway what irks me about this thing is that the a/f ratio varies greatly depending on how you log it. let me show you what i mean. All three charts have a green line at 12.0 a/f ratio

here are the three runs.
4th gear pull
how is it possible for me to be sub 12s mid to high 11s ont he 4th gear pull from down low. Then be in the high 12 even low 13 range for the other pulls. The passes were made within 5-10 min of each other.

So are we all still going to use Lalooshes DH to prove how super the PG pump is... HE isnt even sure that it works  (eekfu)

Did I not JUST say that it is a great failsafe, but a HORRIBLE device to depend on.

car blows black smoke and traps 5mph faster, pulled the stock plugs, would like a picture of them? let me give u lil hint.....black

Black smoke egh.. dont you have some sort of godly fuel pump? Shouldnt that have fixed it?

It traps 5mph faster egh? When did you go to the track and find out?

Funny that you are saying it is trapping 5mph faster via dashhawk.. when you started this thread questioning its accuracy.

Sure, post a picture. I will compare them to mine.. (drinks)

btw.. what does me, repeating that the DH is inaccurate have to do with the color of your spark plugs? let me give u a lil hint...my engine cover.. blue

the car went to a real track before and after the fuel pump.
13.4 @ 106
12.9 @ 111

dont waste my time unless u really want to see a picture of the stock plugs after 13k miles, 2k miles on the aftermarket pump.

i never ran the 1/4 with the dh ont he stock pump. i ran that 12.9 at a track and went a best of 12.89 after tunning the car on the street according to the dh. i said the et is on, i never said anything about hte dh trap speed being correct. What bugs me about this is how the a/f ratio seems to be spot on when u do a pull, but when u go through the gears it changes. now that cant be possible, and i actually pray to go the dh is wrong in this case. Cause if its not, the ecu in this car is the reason people are blowing the **** up, i bet half of these guys that are tunned for 12.0 and higher, dotn even know how lean they are running when they are rowing through the gears. i just looked at dadaracecars graph, he is tuned for 12.0. Going through the gear at over 5000rpm he is running 13.5 a/f ratios.....thats fucken crazy

What you need to realize is ladouch is a retard and really has no idea what he's doing or talking about. Please refer to his post about his "electrical" issues, wow what a idiot.

Srsly, its time to stop wasting your time proving to this forum that these guys
(ladouch and driver) are hack job's, and there cars arent going to last long. From what I hear, he's a east coast italian that has no clue. I have to agree.

Alright..

This is pretty much the exact reason that Ive been saying my car is just as fast as yours (my car vs your car when it had the same setup+pump) Hold on here.. stay calm.. im getting to my point.

From what I can tell driving the car and not monitoring it, it does EXACTLY what you are saying. If I do a pull, I get very limited amounts of smoke and it runs fairly smooth and nice. (Assumed fairly nice AFRs and as well as the pump keeping up) This is the majoirty of the "spirited" driving that I do and where I 100% believe that my car would be spot on with yours.

NOW.. going through the gears, I get gobs of black sout, backfires, plumes of smoke the works. Car pulls hard, but is a bit choppy. I do also agree that these conditions are resulting in the problems with molested rods and blown engines. This is the place where I agree that a fuel pump solution is needed, but it NEEDS to be tuned as well. Even if it is for JUST this single reason.\

BTW- hows your new haircut (doughpoke ?

my car before the pump would begin to stutter past 4k rpm under wot. it didnt feel like fuel cut, it felt like a rapid misfire every 200rpm or so. After the pump, it went away.

As far as the issue at hand, driver who is using a aem uego wideband is reporting the opposite findings. his car is actually RICHER going through the gears. So this has got to be a DH related thing, either that or driver made a mistak and based on his finding and credability, i doubt he would make a mistake like that

Im confused. In the post before this you just said how the car is spot on during a pull.. staying at 12.0ish, but goes rich while going through the gears. Then said "driver is reporting the opposite" but said the same thing? (boom06)

edit: woo.. figured it out. My car is running similar to driver's, where it is running noticably richer through the gears

no, i said through the gears the car runs 1-1.5 points LEANER. Which is obviously not good. This is according to me and dadaracecar's DH readings. According to Driver and the AEM uego, his car is actually slightly richer going through the gears. like i said before, i hope to god the DH is wrong

HEY ADMINS how about someone puts a stop to this guys name calling. He has no business calling people names when he knows nothing about me or chris. I do nothing but post informative info for this site and guys him make me feel like Im wasting my time.

take it easy, guys. this is actually a really interesting issue here, and i think a lot of us would REALLY like to get this figured out, since we all do normal shifting the vast majority of the time...

Here's my run from 3rd to 5th showing my afr lean a mutha in 4th but fine in 3rd and 5th. Weird. I hope its off too - maybe not with the DH but the ecu may not be reading it right and just reporting bad numbers to the DH. In any case, the timing is largely the same in all gears so I'm not knocking (pray). That and Driver's info make me feel (a little) better.

Any chance that the map clamp or BCD, tricking the ECU so you can run more boost is effecting this? The computer is seeing 15.6 psi (or whatever you guys are tricking it to see) and knows what the a/fr's should be at the range it is SEEING.. So it is setting the ratio to that (supplying fuel for 13 or 15.6), where it really should be adding more fuel for actual boost (18-20 for most of us) in 4th.

I wonder if any of the guys running aftermarket EMS are experiencing this or if it is just us running clamps, etc? Could be a bit of a catch 22.

dada is running the cpe ems. the a/f ratio goes back to normal in 5th where load and psi hold even higher, so that theory is thrown out

BUT, technically the EMS is doing the same thing as the map clamp, in tricking the ECU to run the way it wants.. but maybe we underestimate the ability of this ECU to correct itself..

or the dashhawk is just wrong, like a said a few threads ago and got flammed like a witch in the crucible..

however the a/f ratio varies depending on gear and depending on if u go through multiple gears, which is not dependant on the map sensor
