Dealer Reviews

I don't know where the last thread went.

Anyways, I took my car in to Sterling for the oil change, as I always go there. They offered me a wheel for $75 to replace the steelie that I've been driving on for some time now. They even mounted the tire and had it on in the same time as the oil change, and didn't charge me any extra. I guess this was the service managers way of trying to help me after getting screwed by Livonia on my axle. I don't think it's a brand new wheel, I think it was off a new car that got custom rims or something. Considering how much they usually go for from the dealer, I was pretty happy.

Going into my dealer in a few minutes for a 1030appt. front bushings being replaced and a rattling seat belt assembly.

I have great service at Bill Cook. but then again, that might just be since i know them, but either way they are some cool guys and i couldnt see them doing half the horror stories i read about on this site.

Azian6er, was this over your blown motor? and hadn't you upped the boost?

I'm calling Cook next week over the stress crack in my windshield. I know some people have had theirs replaced for free so I'm praying for some generosity.

I've gotten outstanding service from Sesi Mazda in Ypsi. Both the parts counter and the service department.

I'm gonna have to go w/ the crowd on this one... Sterling Mazda rocks... they had no problem w/ my: corksport exhaust, springs, gauges, intake... didnt say a damn thing except, "Wow, those gauges look sweet, did you do them yourself?" and "how are the gains w/ the exhaust? it looks awesome". Albert had told me about this place, and how they totally don't care what kinda mods you've done (as long as you dont up boost), and sure enough, that seems to be the case. I've found a dealership I'm willing to drive 1+ hr to get to, just for the simplicity of the service.

yeah, my assumption is that simple bolt-ons keep your warranty intact, and that anything else that would involve or hint at upped boost are things they would question... But, I don't plan on upping the boost, so I think I'll be fine. Btw, off topic, but bryan, did you go through all the settings on the FATT? There's so much you can do w/ it, including monitor your speed and everything. It's rather crazy.

Ben,

Nothing you bolt on or do to your car unilaterally voids your warranty EXCEPT racing in a sanctioned event. BUT, if what you did, caused the failure you are on your own. ;)

B, too bad I didn't know you before your motor blew, may have been able to pull for you. (headshake

Eting, just to forewarn you, any Mazda Glass complaint will have to be inspected by the District Service Manager for approval it is NOT the dealers decision. If you have a low deductable, I would just have it replaced under your comprehensive insurance, it doesn't count against you like collisions do for claim purposes. Everyone has damaged windshields once in awhile. I wouldn't hold my breath on Mazda replacing it under warranty. I have personally only seen a couple of times where the glass wasn't damaged by an impact of some kind and it was covered under warranty by any manufacturer. But good luck, hope it works out for you. ;)

Just for clarification, the Sterling Mazda I was referring to is in Sterling Heights. They say cat back exhausts void the warranty, even though some of their riced out display cars in the front have that, shrug.

Bill Cook is a great dealer. Best customer service and repair department I've delt with since I was just a baby.

I have seen some of the UGLIEST Mazdas at sterling. any one that would do that type of rediculous s*** to a car, i would not even let work on mine lol. Im afraid if i take it in for the "clunk" they might hear "vynle" and put tacky s*** on my car. hahahahha. but they had this nasty ass graphics on a yellow 6 i was disghusted.

ive always gone to bill cook....and have had a pretty good time w/ them. No one really says anything about any mods or stuff like that. One time i had a creeking noise commin outta the left rear of the car. It was def suspension. I took it in for an oil change one day and asked them to take a look at it. The guy in the service bay that wrote everything up asked me to make the car make the noise. So i rocked my car back and forth and he heard the noise comming from the suspension. When i picked it up (4 hours later for an oilchange) i didnt ask if they fixed it...assumed they would have. As soon as i pulled out of the lot i heard the noise on the first bump i hit. I took it back 4 times before they finally fixed it. The next time they said the mechanic didnt hear anything. After that they said it was my exhaust hangar (aftermarket accessory so its not their problem). I got my exhaust fixed and took it back. Finally i just got pissed and told the guy to have the "mechanic" come out and look at my car w/ me. I told him to lay down underneath the back of the car and i rocked the car so it made the noise. He hears it, stands up, and says "Ohhh...that noise. Its the sway bar.....happens all the time." and walks away. It took them 4 times to figure out the problem that happens "all the time". That was my only bad experience w/ them. Other than that they are really cool there.

Well, isn't that a typical response from you. (lol2) Just trying to help you out, but if you want to blame me for a cracked windshield then I guess go ahead. I feel for my own reference, the solution to that is not to plan anymore events for this crowd for fear of being a scapegoat. ;)
