Except when you use them in fogs. Show shots of how it lights up down the street, 4 ft from the wall makes anything look good. It's how well they light up the road usefully out in front of the car that matters. Wall is nothing but leveling & that doesn't always mean as much as finding a dark place to aim them at the road either. Depending on the bulbs, the wall can be good then look stupid once out driving. Cutoffs in projectors are not the same from drvr to pass side so wall aiming not very useful. You can get them level & pointing straight out in front of car where they need to be instaed of being angled towards other cars or side of road out in a nice dark spot.and this kids, is why HIDs belong with projectors.
The spread of light evenly lighting the whole area in front of the vehicle is half of the point of HIDs vs. 2 strips of light with halogens IMO. Not saying they don't need to be aimed differently to not blind others but I much prefer HID to halogen whether or not they are in projectors. That's just a different set of conditions with the cutoffs in them4ft? s***, lucky if thats even 2ft (rofl2) I'm just saying that with that shot, anyone can tell that there is a huge difference in the focus of the light.
anybody else have to reverse the polarity on their bulb harness? mine were all backwards and would not ignite til i flipped the plug (now they dont clip in)
+1... and you'll have to rewire the lowbeam to stay on when you engage the high... otherwise you'll be basically without headlights for about 5 seconds. plus with all the turning on and off... you'll likely burn up the ballast in pretty short order (comparatively speaking that is)
So I'm a little confused. Did you guys take out the headlight to install these, or can you do it while it's in place? I tried to do it while the light was in place but I really can't see what I'm doing due to the location of the bulb. Then I attempted to take out the entire headlight which I had to take off the grill and could only find 2 screw to remove and it still wouldn't budge.
Edit: I'm assuming you don't need to take the headlight out. I'll wait until tomorrow when it's a little brighter out so maybe I can see in the light housing.
I'm happy with my 35 watt set in both low beams and fog lights but I would be interested to see how bad-ass the 55 watt set would be.Iam considering buying the jdm protege headlights for my Mazda protege5 and iam confused if the h4 hi and low are both hid or if I should just get the low hid since the protege lights are only low beam and no high beam? And what should I get? I have a set of 6k which is from another company. And since the protege headlights for the high beams am I going to have to do some re wiring since my p5 light connector might be different then the normal protege? And should I get the 35w or the 55w set
just aim that shizz downwards
