DDM Tuning Apexcone Raptor HID Kit - $30 plus shipping

and this kids, is why HIDs belong with projectors.
Except when you use them in fogs. Show shots of how it lights up down the street, 4 ft from the wall makes anything look good. It's how well they light up the road usefully out in front of the car that matters. Wall is nothing but leveling & that doesn't always mean as much as finding a dark place to aim them at the road either. Depending on the bulbs, the wall can be good then look stupid once out driving. Cutoffs in projectors are not the same from drvr to pass side so wall aiming not very useful. You can get them level & pointing straight out in front of car where they need to be instaed of being angled towards other cars or side of road out in a nice dark spot.

4ft? s***, lucky if thats even 2ft (rofl2) I'm just saying that with that shot, anyone can tell that there is a huge difference in the focus of the light.

Back Order

I ordered a pair of H7 and H3 and apparently they are on back order. No email to let me know, I checked my order status online to see if it shipped yet and noticed.

The spread of light evenly lighting the whole area in front of the vehicle is half of the point of HIDs vs. 2 strips of light with halogens IMO. Not saying they don't need to be aimed differently to not blind others but I much prefer HID to halogen whether or not they are in projectors. That's just a different set of conditions with the cutoffs in them
vs. a plain halogen housing

anybody else have to reverse the polarity on their bulb harness? mine were all backwards and would not ignite til i flipped the plug (now they dont clip in)

I had to with my fogs for sure. I think I had to with my headlight bulbs as well, not sure. Either way, not that big of deal... either they will fire, or they won't.

yeah took me a second to realise that the colors on the wires weren't matching up. switched them and they worked so i just ziptied the plug on cuz now the clip is on the wrong side.

+1... and you'll have to rewire the lowbeam to stay on when you engage the high... otherwise you'll be basically without headlights for about 5 seconds. plus with all the turning on and off... you'll likely burn up the ballast in pretty short order (comparatively speaking that is)

when i put the hibeams on , the low stays on.
and where i live , we dont have 4lanes hiway and hi trafic hiway so i can have my hi beams on for over 20min before i meet another car sometime so meh , its not That bad. i choose the 55w for the hibeams more for the moose and deers.

I can't wait to get my HID kit in the next month or two!! I'm getting 35w 4.5k low beams and 35w 3k fogs =D

So I'm a little confused. Did you guys take out the headlight to install these, or can you do it while it's in place? I tried to do it while the light was in place but I really can't see what I'm doing due to the location of the bulb. Then I attempted to take out the entire headlight which I had to take off the grill and could only find 2 screw to remove and it still wouldn't budge.

Edit: I'm assuming you don't need to take the headlight out. I'll wait until tomorrow when it's a little brighter out so maybe I can see in the light housing.

It is possible to do it without taking the lights off, but the passenger side is a tight squeeze. To take the headlights out, you'd need to not only remove the grill, but the whole front bumper (there's a screw on the bottom of each lamp) the bulb replacement is a whole lot easier if you take the lamps out, but if you haven't taken off the bumper before it might be a little tricky the first time. If you go into the how-to section, just find the black out headlight thread and it'll explain the removal of the front bumper.

Iam considering buying the jdm protege headlights for my Mazda protege5 and iam confused if the h4 hi and low are both hid or if I should just get the low hid since the protege lights are only low beam and no high beam? And what should I get? I have a set of 6k which is from another company. And since the protege headlights for the high beams am I going to have to do some re wiring since my p5 light connector might be different then the normal protege? And should I get the 35w or the 55w set

I'm happy with my 35 watt set in both low beams and fog lights but I would be interested to see how bad-ass the 55 watt set would be.

55w isn't badass at all, unless you consider blinding people on the opposite side of the road "badass".

I have a piar of Hid I bought Off ebay now in my car and there are the 6k's was thinking about buying a pair for my low beams and going to put in the jdm protege healight assembly, what bulb size are the fog lights and was considering if doing hid fog lights would be worth it,should i go with a 10k or the birght as yellow 55w kit? let me know what you all think i want to be different, and what bulb kit should i get for my low beams?
