CX5 Insurance

FWIW, I called Geico and gave them the chance to come in lower w/ identical coverage to an Allstate quote I got, and they couldn't do it.

Looks like I'll be making the swap.

Did you ask to speak with an underwriter? The average CSR is clueless and will only toe the company line.

Just called Allstate and made the switch! almost 50% discount over Geico from a premium of $1,700 (6 months) for 3 cars down to $950 (6 months) same coverage. Geico were killing me, I have a clean driving record, defensive driving courses etc.. what a bunch of a-holes.

Just for the CX-5 alone Geico had me at $1,600 for the year! with Allstate that amount fell to around $900 for the year. I love it.

I nearly switched to Allstate. But, then I called Nationwide and they edged out Allstate a tad.

I adjusted coverage a tad, so it's not exactly a direct comparison. But, in the end, I'm looking at saving $600/year from making the switch, while dropping PI, lowering comp. deductable, raising collision deductable, and raising PI/PD liability, and uninsured motorist coverage accross the board.

So, looks like $1,800/ year, full coverage for my Speed 6 and CX-5, liability on my 72 Chevy, 2 drivers on policy w/ a clean record. No accidents, citations or claims on record.

That's awesome. We were both being ripped off by Geico, I wonder how many more are as well. It definitely helps toshop around. State Farm also gave a decent quote but it was about 300 bucks more than Allstate, should have tried Nationwide as well.

Same with me 2 drivers clean record, 100K/300K coverage, 50K Property. Health PIP 150K/$500 deduct, Collision and Comp deductable at $1,000. $1900 for the year on 3 vehicles. After paying $3600 this will be a huge relief.

For Shnitzel & Giggles, I just did a quote with Geico replacing the 2007 BMW with a 2014 CX-5. 6 month premium will be $7 less.

YMMV

Wow! This is SO different than what they quoted me.

Geico 2014 Mazda CX-5, $250 deductible collision and comprehensive, $1M liability: $520 annually (not 6 months).

I've been with them for a couple of years.

Insurance is a crap shoot. Premiums differ for everybody, but in the end they still don't want to pay up.

The interesting thing is a have great earnings, >800 credit score, and a spotless record. I DO, however, have two uninsuired claims from the past 3 years, from hit and run drivers. My Speed 6 has been nailed by a reversing woman twice, and my CX-5 when it was only 6 weeks old, again by another reversing woman.

Women + Reverse gear = VERY BAD THINGS.

I think your area/region plays a pretty big role. My premium went up $20/month in 2011 when I moved from Krum, TX to Fort Worth, TX, which is only a difference of about 45 miles!

336 for 12 months with swiftcover. 30 dearer than my last car but....

my cx-5 is worth 23,000 whereas my old car was worth 5000 so that's not too bad.

I went from a 2004 Acura TSX to a 2013 CX-5 with Geico and my premium dropped $200/yr. Very surprised (and happy)

My premium with Geico is going to be $325 for 6 months with 300/500 coverage. I am switching to the lizard today from Progressive.

Sounds about right. If you have not insured with Geico, I suggest you take the Mechanical Breakdown Insurance if you purchased your vehicle and plan to own it after the factory warranty expires.

Wait until you are close to their 15 mon / 15,000 mile criteria. No use to pay for it before then, as you are fully covered under your 36 mon / 36,000 bumper to bumper warranty.

Hey folks, I'm checking my insurance coverage versus everyone else cause I'm paying a TON!!! Most people haven't posted their ages and driving records etc. which have a big impact on insurance costs. But anyway We bought a CX-5 for our college aged daughter. Car is registered in Houston which is killer, but she's in school (with the car) in Arkansas. Our premium is almost $2200/year for a 19 year old with a safe driving record and a "discount" because she went to a certified driving school at 16. That's more than twice what we pay on my 2009 Miata, and almost 3 times what we pay on my wife's 2009 Volvo. Seems ridiculously steep to me.

$2,200 for just the CX-5 alone right? I thought I was getting burned bad by Geico. That seems too steep to me as well even with an inexperienced driver (as they call it).

I'm in my 30's, clean record, full coverage and they had me at $1,600 per year just for the CX-5. Now with Allstate it's at $950 per year. Definitely shop around. I was with Geico for 7 years, I don't know if it's a glitch in their system that made my rates skyrocket with them but it's ceratinly something cause I got 2 other quotes that were very close to Allstate's. Good luck.

Our 2014 GT is $600/year with Liberty Mutual. I even have a total loss at-fault accident on my record from last year (brand new 2012 CNG Civic). I'm very pleased with this rate.

My insurance is over $900 from Erie. This might be inflated since I have teenage daughter on my car also. I cannot complain. I have 4 drivers (one teen), 3 car and I pay just over 1800 a year (500/200).

I'm single with over 20 years of driving history without a single at-fault on my record and only a couple small claims caused by others. I live less than 10 miles from Madison, Wisconsin.

When I got my quote from Geico (been with them for 2 years) for the CX-5, I set aggressive limits. Bumping liability all the way to $1M. Setting my deductibles low at just $250 for both collision and comprehensive. Their quote was a very reasonable $520/yr. Allstate quoted me something in the $900's.

Geico has always given me very low quotes. On my aging '97 Integra, I carry only liability, at $1M. Cost me $180/yr.

I was amazed to find my insurance went down moving from a 2010 Mazda 3 to the 2013 CX-5. It seems my insurance company considered the 2.5GT 3 to be a sports car. Well, I liked the zoom zoom, but I wouldn't consider it a sports car. Weird.
