Thanks for such a quick turnaround. That's pretty close to my current setup. I wonder if geometry might work to my benefit since I think the RAV4 has more car behind the rear wheel axle which is the pivot point. Plus due to the rear mounted spare I need to keep the rack further out so pedals clear the spare. Would you be willing to try and measure how far behind the rear axle the end of the receiver is? And also where the end of the receiver is in relation to the rear hatch? The bottom of the Curt hole is 10 7/8" (see photo).
The one on the right has the REAR BUMPER TRIM W/HITCH part KB8W-V3-300 which is the exact oem combo I want! The rear bumper trim does cover the black cutout I believe? If the black bumper was cut smaller than the silver bumper trim cutout then it can cover the black bumper cutout if it looks crappy when I cut it to install the oem class 1 hitch?View attachment 296743

Look at the videos on eTrailer , they show the procedure. You might consider the weight and your ability. I installed mine by stacking boxes and books up to gradually raise it enough so I could fit the bolts. You have to pry the rubber donuts off of the muffler and a 2016 is 8 years old. Maybe stop by the carwash and clean them off. What is the easier one to install myself? Curt 1, 2 or 3 on my 2016 cx5.
I was going to comment something similar. The silicone spray is a must. I muscled them off without any on the 23 and it was a bear. I had to use a lubricant to remove them when I did the hitch on my old ‘13, they wouldn’t budge.I installed my class 2 Curt hitch with the aid of my floor jack. It would have been better with two people to position and support the hitch. After "busting a gut" a couple times removing the rubber donuts (removed for rust removal and repaint a couple years ago) I used silicone spray and a set of the specialty removal pliers (got heavier duty NOS from ebay). Much easier. Also much easier to remove muffler when removing/installing hitch. Just my experience.
I used this style of pliers. Amazon is full of them but I grabbed a pair of NOS Kastar brand from ebay. They are now offered under the Lang brand name. I wanted the old Kastar because I think Lang thinned up the metal gauge on the one's bearing their name. I could have spent more for another brand heavier duty version but the~$20 I spent on ebay was about the max for a very limited use tool. Super easy using these and silicone spray.I was going to comment something similar. The silicone spray is a must. I muscled them off without any on the 23 and it was a bear.
