just as the subject says. i notice the mazdaspeed's dont have cruise control and living in hawaii, there is no point to have a cruise control on a protege 5. i know it can be removed but would this be a smart idea? tips? comments? anything? haha thanks everyone - chris

there's too much crap to remove... and little things are buried everywhere... the wiring harness has to go, obviously the switches and the cruise control box, and then if you want to remove the actuator s*** under the hood, you have to change out the throttle cable too!

I just recently removed the actuator from under my hood along with the cqble. My main reason was needing room under the hood, my second reason was because I drive my car, I never use the cruise control. It also saves a small amount of weight.

hmm yah, i never use my cruise control here. itll free the motor from looking so cluttered and can save a little wieght (even if it is only 2lbs). but like TheMAn was saying.. that seems like a lot of dawm work. thanks guys! - chris

i removed mine and it was pretty easy.
just take the big actuator form the towers brakets out and leave the harness(just a plug) then remove the cable from the actuator
by loosen the rubber piece and that is it. ofcourse if you want the cable out too just either remove it from inside or cut it.

oh i forgot, one hose that comes fom the intake manifold needs to be taken out and place a plug to tap the vacum hole like the MP3s
have it. it's a small hole and you can find a rubber plug for that anywhere.
