Crossover points

Anyone have a ballpark range,I have 2 10 idq's in a sealed enlose in trunk,Arc acs 6.5 mids with tweets up front going to actively crossover the system with an Audio Control 4 xs,so I have to make the chips...mids are going in the doors..tweets either in kick panel or A pillar(anyone have reccomendations on location?) all in my 01 protege...

Thanks

Try 80Hz for the subs 120 HZ for the Mids as a starting point , our cars enhance the 80 -120 HZ range I have my one 12"sub at 80 hz and the mids at 150 hz because I cant change the mids setting as it is fixed. As for mounting the tweeters ,I would mount them in the kick panels , If you find the sound stage to low you can add a pair of 8 ohm tweeter in the Apillars firing across the dash , on these use a simple 6db slope cap at 16,000hz this will rasie and stablize the sound stage ,

with the acs 6.5 you should be able to go down to 80hz, but it depends on how hard you push them...id stick with around 100hz. the tweeter you should be good. with about 2.5khz. Being metal tweeters i would put these in the a-pillar and aim them arcross the window. If you aim them straight up from the kicks it will pull the sound way to the floor.

just my $.02

too bad i just threw out all my old chips for my 4xs. i made so many different ones to test with.

low pass the subs at 50-60 hz, and high pass the 6.5 at around 100 hz. the cars natural response will fill in the freqs between the x-over points. call arc for a good point for the 6.5 and tweeter, unless you have the raw driver response charts.
