ill be buying either of these soon. Any pros and cons to either? just looking for some suggestions please

Standback is super expensive with pnp, but you can tune it yourself to your own setup.

AP is good also, and much cheaper, but the reason there are a few issues with the AP (KR), is cause the maps are programmed for certain mods. Plus, weather, type of gas (91 at one station can be better than a 91 at another), elevation, even age of spark plugs adn etc... are factors that can affect the tune. With the standback, you can tune all that stuff out. Plus, you can program 2 separate maps for whatever you want...

ap tuning software will be out soon. also they are going to have the ability to switch maps on the fly with the ap. the standback is good, but like cue said it is expensive and then you'll probably want to pay to get all the flashes done by cp-e as well which requires you to send your ECU to them.

...right... disadvantage with SB is that the throttle control cannot be changed. Right now our ECU's limit the throttle (never stay completely open). With the AP, their tunes correct that and keep it open, with SB, it don't. You need to send you ECU to CP-E.

if you have a cobb AP now .. when the new software comes out will you be able to use it with the the current cobb AP ?? any dates it will be ready for sale ?? will it cost more ??

yes the cobb ap is always updateable via the internet and there aren't costs for this. there is a chance the software to tune it may cost money depending on if cobb is to provide user support for it. i have reviewed the tuning guide for cobb and it sounds like it will be pretty sweet.

Well sounds like the ap is up and coming still....sounds like the better choice. Does anyone know when you will be able to control the throttle plate with the ap?

Already does, if I'm not mistaken...

It does. Not to mention if your car is still under warranty you can flash it back to stock for dealer visits.. A bit harder to do with a standback.

yes the cobb ap opens the throttle plate already. with the tuning software you will be able to adjust just about any parameter on the car. like if you have stiffer mounts and want to raise the idle rpm so you don't get as much vibrations you can do that.

So basically just wait till that software comes out and get the ap right? And does anyone know when it's coming out?

Cobb AP is the clear choice. Easier to use, more adjustability to the end user, and conservative, yet solid tunes. ATR is $195 additional, so for $890 you'll have full end user functionality ($695+195).

Bova, are they still looking into the 2-step and no lift shift options on the AP?

So there is no need for the wotbox I just bought...

Depends on WHEN you want to use those features..... You have the wotbox NOW, right? The AP won't have it until sometime in the future, if at all.

Cobb has been slow to the market with most of their products.

HOWEVER, I say they do have the "best" product and are head and shoulders above ALL others in their mature professionalism.

Plus, if you're not impatient, the WOT box requires splicing into your electrical system, where as the Cobb is not intrusive at all. From what I've heard this should be out by the end of summer, but who knows exactly when that'll be.

No.

^ Sweet...

Yes there is.

Not if you have the AP

They aren't coming out with this for the AP. They are releasing the ATR as is and won't be adding features, just fixing bugs.

I'd hold on to the WOT Box.
