So, according to your explanation, bypassing the coolant from the TB is good or bad?wicked said:the coolent runs through there for smog reasons, not to stop the throttle body from freezing.the idea is to expand some os the nitrogen molecules before they go into the intake to as to better atomize the fuel,it won't hurt anything, but it will only help(in horse power) when the car has fully warmed, and is in closed loop.
I'm not making this up,this realy is what it's for.
good for HP (slightly), bad for emmisions (slightly)Black Majik MSP said:So, according to your explanation, bypassing the coolant from the TB is good or bad?![]()

never would have thought it.
scorch70 said:I talked to a guy here at work about the coolant bypass (he owns a SpecV) and he said he has heard of at least one guy on the Vboard who cracked his TB doing this (cold and hot temps maybe?). Of course, its hard to prove that the bypass caused the crack, but just something to think about. Im still going to do the mod anyway. Used TB = not too expensive (as long as pieces of it dont break off and get in the engine).
