Back to the top of the stories.
Yeah, I had a similar story with the toyota dealers. One day my friend and I wanted to compare the Matrix to my P5, so we found this dark blue 180hp matrix at a local dealer. As we were looking at it, a dealer comes by and asks if we need help. I was like 'just comparing it to my ride'. The dealer looked a little confused, so I said Mazda Protege5. He smiled (as if to say this thing will kick your cars ass), and said do you want to test drive this real car? Me and my friend started laughing, and added "This minivan look alike?".
He was steaming as we walked off the lot!!!

Do you live in Tupelo? I live in Iuka, if you're familiar with the extreme northeast regions of MS.

In your defense, I did not see using the "forbidden J word" as a racist slur of any kind. Maybe it is the region that we live in... In my small town we look past race or ancestry or ethnicity (most people here do, anyway) to determine social status. Sometimes, though, words that have been used over the years have transformed meanings... like dead metaphors (take for instance, the word "nightfall". It found its origins when people referred to the night as "falling upon us". Later the word nightfall came into standard usage.) Anyway, I understand that there were no harsh feelings or racial overtones intended in your message. Therefore, I did not take offense.

I also see the moderator's side. No one wants to moderate a board that could be looked at by a non-biased third party and viewed as race- or religion-biased.
Assuming I were in a leadership position here I would rule "no fault" on either party, but still leave the message edited.
He he he... sorry for that! :)

Back to the MP5 part of the story...
Did you purchase yours at the Mazda Dealership in Tupelo? They kinda p!ssed me off there when I went to check out the P5... The salesman and I walked out the the P5s behind the building, and just before we got there he asked me "in what time frame do you plan to buy?" I told him that I was considering selling my car first, and then buying, to which he promptly turned around and (while walking off) replied, "Come see me when you're ready to purchase."
He made me so (@*%()@! mad... I stepped back inside the dealership to check out the Vivid Yellow MP5 on display... I "accidentally" sounded the alarm twice, and played with the sunroof until the salesman were hideously angry :D The other salesmen seem nice there, I must have gotten the jerk (like always).

sup droptop thanks for the defense and no i live in calhoun city but i do know where iuka is i used to go threw there all the time when i went to chattanoga on hwy 72 and i didnt get my p5 at t town either couse i kinda had the same delima but my friend who had this vivid yellow p5 swapped even with me on my 98 dodge sst he wanted more horsepower and i wanted gas milage lol but we both got what we wanted but i still go to corinth alot to the honda shop if you see a vivid yellow p5 with white 18 inch konegs give me a holla i aint stuck up and its pretty cool to actually talk to someone on my level or ours and i dont mean that in a racist way but in our p5 way lol ill holla later stay cool and stay ahead:cool:

Is the Honda shop you mentioned Lakehill Motors and Marine?

I finally got to test drive a P5 today. Silver, 5spd, polished wheels, floormats... Nice drive, but I'm debating between a 5spd vs. automatic.

Funny thing, I went to the Mazda dealership today, and there were no cars! Across the street there were hardly any vehicles at the Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep and Toyota dealerships... It turned out that all 3 dealerships (plus others) were at the Furniture Market building on Colley (sp?) Road.

Is your P5 auto or manual? I noticed that the EPA ratings for highway mileage were 30 and 31, respectively... that makes the auto/manual decision even harder. the manual tranny is only worth one extra MPG...

One more question... what size tires did you use with your 18"s?

yea the honda shop is lakehill and if you want performance i would recommend a 5 speed, as a matter of fact i think im gonna go try and trade my auto for one couse my partner got a stick and we raced at greenville ms at a car show {showfest} which was badass and he kicked my ass lol that made his day but it all depends on what kind of deal they will give me for mine but im gonna go to t town friday and see what i can do wish me luck.oh yeah i got 235/40"s on my p5.

Good luck with the deal... I drove a silver one at that dealership with something like 23 or 28 miles on it... 5spd with polished wheels... I didn't see one there with 5spd and sunroof. I've been looking for one with 5spd, sunroof, ABS, side airbags and floormats (floormats that I could live without if I had to)

I talked to a salesman named Will who was pretty cool. He's a younger guy who lives in Booneville. He was the only one at that dealership who has let me test drive, which speaks highly of him. That's the only Mazda dealership within reasonable distance (I assume there's one in Memphis, too, but I don't go to Memphis very often...) When I go to buy my P5, I'll buy it from him.
